Each spring, RHSPA’s Center Stage Initiative reflects our program’s core belief that theatre is not only a vehicle for storytelling, but a powerful means of service. This year’s recipient is especially near and dear to our hearts. In 2023, RHSPA sophomore performer Layton Williams’ mother, Maggie, suffered a devastating stroke. She has been unable to regain her autonomy and now requires full-time, round-the-clock care. When our students learned of her ongoing needs, they unanimously chose to dedicate this year’s Center Stage Initiative to her family. Prior to her stroke, Maggie was an esteemed theatre professor at Chattanooga State who profoundly impacted the lives of countless students and community members. Now it is our turn to impact hers.
All proceeds from our March 14 matinee performance of The Little Mermaid will go directly to Maggie’s family to assist with the ongoing expenses of her care. We hope you will be a part of this special show! Tickets at rhsperformingarts.ludus.com or at the door.
