Our volunteer rodeo crew was out preparing the arena and making sure all of the stock pens are buttoned up for the Labor Day rodeo. This arena has one of the most beautiful views! Thank you Montrose Implement & Motorsports for the use of the amazing tractor and thank you Ridgway Fire Protection District for providing the dust control and water for the arena. Join us Monday September 7th for the Rodeo!

šŸ¤  Put on your cowboy hat for the Labor Day Parade at 10am on Monday, Sept. 7th in Ridgway. Set up your chair near Sherman Street between Amelia and Railroad Streets. If you're hot and dry, stay on the sidewalk when the firetrucks appear. If you're cool and don't want a soaking, stand back a far piece.

šŸŽ Then mosey over to the Fairgrounds for the Ouray County Rodeo. Enjoy barrel racing , bronc ridin', wild cow milking, team roping and more! The gates open at 11am, and the events start at noon.

Rodeo tickets are $15 online or at the gate
Kids 5 & under are free
Military free with ID
No dogs, please.

The arena at the Ouray County Fairgrounds received some serious TLC after the Gold Mountain Fire command teams left. Volunteers helped to remove six dump truck loads of debris - some including nails, screws and staples - and lots of rocks!

Come see the arena this weekend at the Ouray County Rodeo - this is the best it's looked in many years!

We have an amazing board who has put in a lot of time into making this years rodeo an amazing event, but we could use some help. We need a few more volunteers for the day of to help with ticket sales, parking and a few other things. This event is a huge undertaking and we have done most of the leg work we just need help to get to the finish line. If you have the time and wouldnā€™t mind helping out this great local event please reach out to the fairgrounds or to the Ouray County Rodeo Association. New this year a ā€œlocals onlyā€ competition which is being brought back by popular demand from many years agoā€¦Mad cow milking. Big thank you to RRL ranch for donating the cows who donā€™t want to be milked and entertainment that we are certain will make the crowd cheer loud!
