After two years of weird, wild events experiences, and experiments, I’ve closed the doors on the physical space at Fertile Ground Studio. For those who came with me on this ride, THANK YOU! We had a time.

But fear not! The idea (and production company) of Fertile Ground lives on.

Stay tuned for more adventures in film making, collaborating, small dog antics, and just general nonsense.

In dark times, art matters, community matters. Let’s keep connecting, and finding the bright spots, and building strength in numbers.

Sun 9/30: Open Studio 2-6pm followed by a film screening & mixer

It’s been just over a year since Fertile Ground Studio opened its doors and I thought it was time for a personal introduction.

My name is Emilia (Mia) Spirito and if we haven’t met at a booking or event, nice to meet you! These two little furballs are Archie & V, they take their management duties around here very seriously.

I opened Fertile Ground after 15 years of working in film and television in New York. As a Production Designer and Art Director I bring the sets to life for TV, Movies & Commercials. My passion is for telling stories through independent film and experimental collaborations with other artists. My dream at Fertile Ground is to provide affordable space for independent artists across disciplines and to cultivate a creative community.

Fertile Ground Studio is my physical space, and it’s available to rent as well as for collaborations. Do you have an idea for an event that will foster community but don’t know where to start? Reach out! Let’s see what kind of magic we can make happen.

Fertile Ground Productions is my company. Together with a collective of other creatives we can do pretty much anything! Photoshoots, video production, event production, set design, fabrication, hair & make-up, editing, web design… our network of professionals can take you from concept to completion or just fill in the gaps for your existing team.

Join our resident artist on Sunday December 3rd from 1PM - 5PM, learn her process and leave with your own original piece!

The workshop portion of the day will go from 1PM -4PM and the last hour will be time to show off your art and hang with us. All materials provided.
