DYK: We have a pollinator garden by the back patio here at the Waller Craft Center!
It's in bloom right now and really coming along!

Yesterday morning, we participated in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census by observing the pollinators on the Mexican Sunflower behind the Craft Center, like this Monarch Butterfly. Also happened to catch this gorgeous sunrise. A beautiful this morning, all before 9:00 am.

We heard you, grown-ups! We've got a pottery crafting class coming up just for y'all! 📢 "Throwing Pottery on a Wheel" is a six session workshop led by Guild Artisan Emily Elliot. You will learn how to throw clay on a pottery wheel, how to finish up and trim your pieces, glazing and surface decoration. Learn and work at your own pace! Act fast, as class space is limited to a minimum of 3 people, with a maximum of 5. Registration fee includes all supplies.

Six Sessions, one-day-a-week (Tuesdays) • 2 hours per session
September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and October 6, 2026 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Waller Craft Center: 950 Rice Road, Ridgeland, MS 39157
Adults • Registration: $200 per participant, includes supplies. Link in the comments.

Classes will be held in the Guild's Pottery Studio at the Waller Craft Center.
Due to the heat, the classes will be in the evening. Wear something you don't mind getting dirty.

You're invited to a special Book Talk, Reading & Signing! 📚The Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi is thrilled to announce a very special event featuring beloved author and Guild “Fellow” member Diane Williams on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the Waller Crafts Center in Ridgeland, MS.

Diane Williams will celebrate the release of her highly anticipated memoir, “Fostering Love: Resilience, Growth, and Triumph.” The afternoon will include a book talk, reading, and an opportunity to have your copy personally signed by the author. Williams will also be signing her acclaimed works, “A Guide to Mississippi Museums” and “Mississippi Folk and the Tales They Tell.”

As a “Fellow” member of the Craftsmen’s Guild, Diane Williams is recognized for her outstanding contributions to both literature and the arts. In honor of this unique occasion, a selection of Diane’s distinctive art designs will be on display and available for purchase.

Our LAST event of our Porch Party series is just around the corner, and you won’t want to miss it! On Thursday, August 13th, the Craftsmen’s Guild will host a wine tasting at the Craft Center featuring J. Lohr wines AND a glassblowing demonstration from Artisan, Nic Neese.
