Through intricate materials and layered storytelling, Tammy Nguyen’s Summer (2023) and Winter (2023) transform the artist book into a space for preserving and reimagining narratives. Part of The Aldrich Decennial: I am what is around me, these works combine printmaking, collage, and bookmaking techniques to explore connections between history, mythology, and the natural world through carefully constructed pages and richly detailed compositions.

Jihyun Lee’s Doll Shelf_Red Scene 1 and Doll Shelf_Red Scene 3 (2017–21) create spaces where memory takes tangible form. Combining hand-painted fabric objects with found materials and everyday domestic elements, Lee layers fragments of personal experience into imagined interiors where past and present coexist. Her practice explores the fluid nature of recollection, revealing how memories shift, overlap, and evolve over time. Through these intimate installations, featured in The Aldrich Decennial: I am what is around me, Lee contributes a deeply reflective perspective to the dynamic community of contemporary artists in Connecticut.
