A Struts & Frets production will always feature a strong heroine, deep adoration, great tenderness, striking moments, and will always look to the future.

1. a black and white photo of Elizabeth Gryshchenko as Diana in All's Well That Ends Well, S&F '24. Her blonde hair is pinned away from her face, and she wears a blouse with a lace collar. She looks determined.

2. a black and white photo of Andi Moring as Paulina and Shay Haase as Hermione in The Winter's Tale, S&F '23. Paulina's hands hold Hermione's face tenderly and has a huge smile on her face. Hermione's hands are held over Paulina's. Hermione's face looks reassured and attentive.

3. a black and white photo of Tessa Douangaphaivong as Beth and Cathy Willoughby as Marmee in Little Women, S&F '24. Beth looks to the left out of frame, as though looking over her shoulder one last time. She holds a bouquet of flowers and her face is full of feeling.

4. a black and white photo of Cathy Willoughby as the Queen and Maddie Blanchard as Helen in All's Well That Ends Well, S&F '24. The Queen is seated, with Helen kneeling in front of her. The Queen gives something to Helen, and Helen receives it with a surprised and grateful look.

5. a black and white photo of Elliot Grass as June in Anatomy of Gray, S&F '22. She has her hair in braids and holds a tiny swaddled infant. Her face is strong and set with purpose. There is an overall air of hope about the image.]

Not able to audition in person?
A self tape is a great option!

1. WHAT YOU NEED TO RECORD
Slate
-say your name, height, pronouns (if you feel comfortable sharing), and location
Audition
-A classical monologue
*10-20 lines, verse preferred
-Optional: 30 seconds of music
*You may sing a cappella/play and instrument/accompany yourself

2. LIGHTING & BACKGROUND
Lighting
-You don't need a fancy ring light!
*Overhead lighting is fine, as long as it doesn't create shadows on your face.
*Natural light from a window works great too!
Background
-A blank, solid color wall is perfect, but if you have photos or wallpaper just make sure they aren't too distracting/
*Whatever color your wall is, wear clothing in contrast.

3. FILMING THE SLATE
This is your introduction!
-Film in landscape
-Frame yourself from the shoulders up, with your face centered on screen.
-Looking directly into the camera, tell us:
*Your name
*Height
*Pronouns, if you feel comfortable sharing
*Location

4. FILMING THE AUDITION
Make sure to:
-Film in landscape.
-Frame yourself from the waist up.
-Keep your face visible.
-Look just off of the camera, not directly into the lens.
You may go directly from your slate into your audition material. You can also film them separately and combine them while editing.

5. EDITING AND UPLOADING
-No need for anything fancy!
-Use iMovie, Canva, CapCut, or any other free editing program to put your clips together.
-Don’t worry about adding transitions between clips.
-You may add text to the left lower corner of the video titling your audition material, but this isn’t required. You may also list your material in the description box of your video on the hosting site.
-Upload your video to either YouTube or Vimeo.
-Title your video “Your Name - S&F Audition 2026”
*Unlisted or private settings are fine.
