Welcome Vicky Chen, our new executive director!

We’re thrilled to welcome Vicky Chen to Richmond Art Center as our new Executive Director, beginning September 21, 2026.

An artist, educator, and community leader, Vicky brings extensive experience in arts education and community engagement. We’re excited to have her join us during our 90th anniversary year and look forward to the vision and energy she’ll bring to Richmond Art Center’s next chapter.

Join us this Saturday, August 29, from 12pm-3pm for the opening reception of Ninety@Ninety, a small works fundraiser exhibition celebrating Richmond Art Center’s 90th anniversary.

Featuring 90 artworks by local artists, the salon-style exhibition brings together artists across generations and creative practices in one vibrant exhibition.

Opening Reception: Saturday, August 29, 12–3pm

Proceeds from artwork sales support Richmond Art Center’s community programs.

In honor of Richmond Art Center founder, artist, and educator Hazel Salmi and her love of flower arranging, one of the art-making activities at our 90th Birthday Party will be creating floral wearable adornments. Put a flower in your hair or buttonhole, and join the celebrations! All are welcome!

The party will also include the opening of our 90th anniversary exhibitions, door prizes, food, and live music by the Dewayne Oakley Blues Ensemble.

We’re busy installing our 90th anniversary exhibitions! In the South Gallery, Ninety@Ninety is a small works fundraiser featuring 90 artworks for 90 years.

See something you love? Every artwork is available for purchase, with proceeds supporting Richmond Art Center’s community programs.
