Good morning!

Entries will open on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. for next Sunday June 7th at North Topeka Saddle club. Right now they do have rain in the forecast, so if you enter, I do ask that you don't pay until closer to entries closing. You guys know the drill at this point.

We are going to move the high stakes race to this date, we are also WPRA approved as well as bonus race.

Event Update: The Beaches of Topeka Edition

After evaluating arena conditions, we've decided the Beaches of Topeka are just a little too beachfront property for barrel racing this weekend.

Unfortunately, horses don't come equipped with snorkels, floaties, or lifeguard certifications, so we'll be canceling the event.

We'll save the racing for when the arena is less "oceanfront resort" and more "barrel race." 🎪

Stay dry, everyone, or if you're on the Missouri side, start your sprinklers for your garden 😂

Good morning.

As of 9:00 a.m. Friday the 29th, the race at North Topeka is still on.

!!HOWEVER!!

We will be checking the arena again this evening. It is a COMPLETELY SAND arena and as of yesterday morning at 11:00 a.m., I had actually talked to the water truck. That Arena can hold a ton of water and is faster when it is wet. Last race we put on four truckloads of water! The only issue there may be, is parking. Like I said, we will have details this evening after 6:00 p.m. on the race status.

With all of that being said, entries are still open on SGP. I am going to leave them open until Saturday at 3:00 p.m. due to weather, and people waiting on a status. I'm very quick at getting a draw up, so you will have a draw up Saturday evening if the race is on.

Good morning!

Entries are still open and will close Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. for the race at North Topeka Sunday May 31st.

I am 99.9% certain even with this rain coming in we will not cancel. The last race I actually put 4 truckloads of water on that arena, so when I tell you that arena can hold water, I mean it.

This race is 100% a go regardless of entry numbers. I am already going to be on the road coming from rodeos in Iowa, so this race will not get canceled. We do allow day of entries, so if you are on the fence, our slack session can hold 85 entries and the draw is posted at all times, so if you need to see if there's room in our slack, you can check SGP before you haul, but as it stands we will have plenty of room.

Happy Memorial Day! 🇺🇸

Just a reminder that entries open tomorrow night, Tuesday, May 26th at 6:00 PM, for the Sunday, May 31st North Topeka race.

Entries will close Saturday at 9:00 AM. As always, we ask that you hold off on paying until closer to entry closing time.

This race will feature a $300 High Stakes Race.

We have also separated Youth/Senior from the Open for anyone who only chooses to run in those classes.

Youth/Senior only entries will not be entered on SGP. You will enter those the day of the race in the office.

If you are running in both the Open and Youth/Senior, you will enter the Open on SGP and then let us know in the office that you are also a Youth or Senior.

Good morning

Entries open Tuesday at 6pm on SGP for the 3rd North Topeka race. As always with these races, please do not pay until we get closer to entries closing, or we do take cash or check at the office. I just asked if you are not going to attend after you have entered, that you message me so I can pull you from the draw.

We will have the high stakes side pot at this race and the youth and senior will be separate, and will be a sign up in the office that Veronica Power
As always we do not have a designated p*e wee class, but if you do have PeeWee members who wish to go around the barrels, if you let us know up in the office, we do announce them, and I have sponsored prizes we have them. Emily Griffin's daughter is a great example of this.

You guys know the drill, I watch the weather daily and we check the arena often.

As we prepare to hit the halfway mark of 2026, we are already over here stress planning, caffeine drinking, and mildly concerning ourselves over the 2027 season. 😱😂
In fact, we already have OVER HALF of our 2027 dates booked.
Which honestly feels irresponsible this far in advance… but here we are.

For 2027, Jokes On Us Productions will not be offering just one saddle series, we will be offering TWO.
We will continue our saddle series at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Lawrence, Kansas beginning in January, and as we continue working with the Buchanan County Fairgrounds, that will become our second saddle series kicking off in the fall.

‼️BUT WAIT‼️

Because apparently 2 saddles series were not enough chaos for me…
We are adding a KART SERIES at North Topeka Saddle Club.
Yes. E-carts.
So if you’ve ever wanted to go from running barrels to looking like Mario Kart’s financially unstable rodeo cousin, your time has come.

We will also be bringing back:
The Birthday Barrel Bash
The Mad Money Race
The Youth Extravaganza
And of course the annual Mock NFR — which will once again serve as our yearly finals.

Now with all of these races coming in 2027, we are introducing something NEW:

‼️Memberships.‼️

🎪 No, you do NOT have to be a member to come compete at Jokes On Us Productions races. We are not creating an elite secret society where you have to know a password and sacrifice your firstborn to enter. 😅 But if you really want to, we do take child labor. 🎪

HOWEVER…
Memberships are going to unlock a LOT more.
Exclusive perks, added incentives, special opportunities, year-end benefits, finals perks, and honestly, probably things I haven’t even thought of yet because my brain is currently operating on caffeine and poor financial decisions. When we put pen to paper, the initial cost of prizes for next year alone was going to reach $50,000!!

2027 is shaping up to be bigger, wilder, and somehow even more chaotic than 2026.
