Ply Creatives Shop + Studio for Creatives

Good morning Ply community! Well, it looks like Mother Nature came to visit this morning. After looking at the weather forecast, we’ve made the very tough decision to withdraw from Potterypalooza today.

We didn’t make this decision lightly but want to prioritize the safety of our team and protect all the beautiful pieces that our club members worked so hard to create.

Instead, we’ll be having a Fall Open House in the near future to celebrate our community and highlight the work of our club members. We appreciate your understanding and support and look forward to seeing you soon. Stay tuned for more details…

Ply will be open normal hours today, feel free to stop by and say hi!

We’re all packed up and ready for the greatest day of the year, Potterypalooza! Ply will have a booth and our incredible teachers Lynne Glass and Elmtree Pottery will have booths right next us. It’s a Ply family affair!

We’ll be selling lots of unique pieces made by our fantastic pottery club members. And we also remembered your requests from last year and just MIGHT have some ghosts and pumpkins for sale. You’ll just have to come visit us to find out…👻🎃

See you all tomorrow. We can’t wait!

This is a hard post to put out there. While Ply is located safely in downtown Richmond, our home is not and was caught in the flood path a few days ago. We have much to be grateful for. Our family is safe, along with our animals, we have family to stay with and friends to help us, and we were able to recover many of our possessions that were above water. We’ll have much work ahead of us to be able to get back home though. All that to say, I can’t anticipate how this might affect Ply over the next few months. We will have the shop back open today and tomorrow, and then be closed for two weeks as planned. The time we had set aside for inventory work, fall ordering, and class prep will be dedicated to attempting to clear debris and remediate our home. I’m asking in advance for some patience on how this might impact our busy season of classes, events, and shopping. Thank you and take care, everyone. -Sam

Heads up, we’ll be closing the shop for a few weeks after Saturday! We’re doing things a little differently this year and closing down the shop before we make the transition into the busy season. We’ll be closed 8/16-9/01 and look forward to seeing you in September! NOTE: THIS DOES NOT AFFECT OUR STUDIO. Studio members will still be able to access the space as usual during its normal hours. Thanks everyone for your understanding!

Our project samples for the May Makealong Mornings are here! We’re spending the rest of our Saturday mornings in May working our way through Ranunculus by and Cloudbreak Tee by .and.pine.designs one stitch at a time. Both of these patterns have been knit by our beloved Carla, and have been highly recommended by her for a first garment-knitting project. For those needing guidance with understanding pattern reading and knitting techniques, we’ll have in-depth workshop time available both May 9th and 16th 10-11 am for $20. And for experienced knitters, our open Makealong group time will be meeting up 10:30-12:30 pm every Saturday morning through the end of May. We can’t wait to see you there! 🧶✨🌞
