We were all smiles last weekend as we took a field trip to see the Bill Robinson statue in Jackson Ward!!!

Born May 25, 1878, Bill “Bojangles” Robinson is one of the most celebrated tap dancers to date. From dancing on vaudeville stages to dancing in motion pictures on the big screen, Bill Robinson has paved the way for generations of tap dancers to come.

Fall is officially upon us and we’ve got a full month of classes lined up for October! 🍁🎃🪾

No class this weekend as we head over to the 2nd St Festival to perform with .richmond from 1-1:30p on the main stage between Marshall and Clay St.

The third workshop of our series Tap Through Time was an enjoyable challenge. These dancers learned The New Low Down, an iconic routine choreographed by Richmond’s very own Bill Robinson. We’re impressed with how much these dancers covered in just one short session with Erica! 👏🏾

The second workshop of our series Tap Through Time was a blast. This eclectic group of dancers learned the traditional Shim Sham and its variations. Of course we couldn’t skip over the age old question of “to clap or not to clap” 🤔. IYKYK
