Happy national (and international) tap dance day! Celebrating the art form we all know and love.

How many dancers can you identify from this image? Shout em out in the comments! We’ll start…Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, a tap dancer from right here in RVA. Tap dance day was founded in honor of his contributions to the form and is observed on his birthday, May 25th.

Last but certainly not least we’ll be welcoming youth dancers from Aspire Dance Academy 804 Dance Place and J'adore DANCE to the stage tomorrow. We’re looking forward to seeing these hungry groups of next generation tap dancers shine.

Next up we’ve got two talented artists based north of Richmond. These dancers will be performing a work with original music created specifically around their vision. You don’t want to miss it. You’ll also catch Virginia assisting our adult and youth classes. We’re happy to have them join us.

Next up we’ve got the tap crew from our friends Dogwood Dance Project They’ll be bringing the party vibes to our celebration with a playfully energetic piece that debuted in their most recent season concert. We can’t wait!

First up in our performer lineup announcement is our very own ensemble. Some of these dancers will be making their RTC debut this weekend and we couldn’t be more excited to see them all shine on stage. Come check out our Spotlight Series Show from 12:30 to 1:30p this Saturday at Hanover Arts and Activities Center
