Looking to nurture your skills and grow with a new medium? Join us for another round of Watercolor for Beginners on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 6:00 P.M.! For this month’s session, we’ll take inspiration from our burgeoning studio garden to paint summery sprouts and vegetables! This all ages, all skill levels friendly workshop is priced at $20 per patron and includes instruction and all necessary materials. This workshop requires no registration or prior experience. We hope to see you there!

We’re open, and we’re on for B.Y.O. Supplies Sketch Club today! We’ll resume our standard shop, studio, and space operation hours today through Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.; we’d like to thank our community for their support with yesterday’s altered scheduled.

Today, June 24, 2026, break out your pencils and join us for our free, weekly sketch club starting at 4:00 P.M.! We’ll reconvene for Watercolor for Beginners at 6:00 P.M. tomorrow, Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 6:00 P.M.; our weekly Young Creatives (ages 12-17) gathering will start at 6:00 P.M. this Friday, June 26, 2026.

Looking for ways to fill your weekend? Be sure to join in on the community celebration at Richmond Pride this Saturday, June 27, 2026 on Elm Place (located on the street directly behind us in the Historic Depot District) from 12:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.; we’ll be hosting our biweekly Free, Free-Form Collage Potluck and Oil Painting with Bennett sessions concurrently in addition to offering an assortment of free, collaborative art activities to celebrate the day!

Tonight’s Linocut Mini Tote Block Printing workshop has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date as we create space to address an emergent family healthy situation. Oblivion Cinema & Arts will open at 10:00 A.M. today as planned, but we may close early. Updates will be provided as they arise. Refunds have been processed for preregistered attendees; if you were registered, please keep an eye out for a message about make-up opportunities. Looking for summer opportunities for your little artist to nurture their big imagination? Registration is now open for our Lily & The Littles Making Miniatures Camp! We are excited to announce Lily’s presence at Oblivion Cinema & Arts for this weeklong program. Under Lily’s guidance, artists will explore cardboard construction techniques, recycled materials and paper pulp clay to plan and create a miniature shadowbox scene. Artists will look at examples of miniatures in history, explore cardboard building techniques, complete authorizations for cardboard cutting machine, hot glue and other tools, plan and build a miniature scene, and write an artist statement and share work

This camp is designed for students ages 7-10 and will run from 8:30 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, July 6-10, 2026; for the duration of camp, we will temporarily close our studio to give participants open access to our space This camp is priced on a sliding scale basis of $60, $75, or $90 per patron; all tiers include the same instruction and material cost but varies to facilitate budget accommodation; tiers can be mixed and matched for sibling sets or individual participants. As June winds to a close, we’re preparing for a full week ahead! We will resume our standard 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. operating hours this week after a successful Creature Camp with out Young Creatives. For our after hours workshops, we’re preparing for a week of medium exploration! On Tuesday, June 23, we’ll gather at 6:00 P.M. for another Linocut workshop—make your own stamps and customize your own mini tote to carry! On Thursday, June 25, we’ll see the return of Watercolor for Beginners; for this month’s session, we’ll take inspiration from our burgeoning garden to paint home-grown vegetables and seasonal sprouts! Our Young Creatives group will reconvene on Friday, June 26 at 6:00 P.M. for an Open Studio Night in alternate to our usual Wednesday gathering.

Saturday, June 27, 2026 will be packed with our biweekly Collage Potluck and Oil Painting with Bennett Ritchie sessions—we’ll also be offering a selection of free, collaborative community crafts inside the studio and on the street all day long to celebrate Richmond Pride, which will be hosted on Elm Place by Rainbow Richmond (Rainbow Richmond)!

Whether you’re looking to create, connect, or peruse our curation of local art and art supplies, we cannot wait to see you at Oblivion Cinema & Arts this week! Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday at Roscoe’s Coffee Bar & Tap Room (Roscoe’s Coffee Bar & Tap Room) for Craft & Craft! Check out a few of the evenings’s barn quilt creations.

We’ll be back in the tap room in July with another crafty gathering. Stay tuned for the release of our July schedule for Oblivion Cinema & Arts in the days ahead!
