🎭 WELCOME TO THE TEAM, AMBER! 🎭

Richmond Shakespeare is thrilled to welcome Amber Martinez as our new Education Manager! ✨

Amber brings extensive experience in theatre education, community engagement, and arts administration. She spent nearly seven years as Arts in Education Manager at Virginia Repertory Theatre, overseeing touring programs and partnerships with schools and community organizations. She later served as Communications Director at Firehouse Theatre and most recently worked as a Voice Over Artist for CoStar.

A graduate of VCU, Amber holds both a BFA in Theatre Performance and an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy. Her work as an artist and educator is rooted in a belief in the power of theatre to connect people. ❤️

At Richmond Shakespeare, Amber will help lead and grow our education programs—including Student Matinees, Bardathon, the Festival Young Company, and our expanding work with schools and young people throughout Virginia.

We couldn't be more excited to have Amber joining us as we begin this next chapter of Richmond Shakespeare's education programming.

👏 Please join us in giving Amber a very warm Richmond Shakespeare welcome!

🎩✨ THAT’S A WRAP ON THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST! ✨🎩

“The truth is rarely pure and never simple.” — Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest

And what a wonderfully complicated, hilarious, joyful journey this has been. ❤️

Congratulations to the entire cast, creative team, crew, stage management, front-of-house team, and everyone behind the scenes on an incredible run of The Importance of Being Earnest and a spectacular conclusion to our 2026 Shakespeare Fest!

You gave us laughter, beautiful performances, packed houses, added performances, sold-out shows—and more than a few cucumber sandwiches. 🥒🎭

A huge thank-you to our wonderful friends at Richmond Triangle Players at the Robert B. Moss Theatre for welcoming us into their home and being such generous partners and hosts.

And thank you to our friends at Firehouse Theatre for building the beautiful set that helped transform the theatre into Wilde’s wonderfully ridiculous world. 🛋️✨

This production—and this entire summer—has reminded us of something we believe deeply: collaboration makes our theatre community stronger. When Richmond’s arts organizations share our spaces, resources, talents, ideas, and audiences, we can create something greater than any of us could create alone.

We are incredibly fortunate to be part of a community of artists and organizations that show up for one another, and we look forward to finding even more ways to work together in the seasons ahead. ❤️

To everyone who joined us for Earnest and throughout the 2026 Shakespeare Fest: thank you for showing up, laughing with us, and supporting live theatre.

And to our Earnest family…

🎩🥒 Congratulations on an incredible run. Happy Closing! 🥒🎩

🎩✨ THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE CURTAIN ✨🎩

As we head into the final performance of The Importance of Being Earnest and bring our 2026 Shakespeare Fest to a close, we want to shine the spotlight on the extraordinary people who have kept everything running front of house and backstage! ❤️

From welcoming patrons and keeping the drinks flowing to calling the show, managing scene changes, solving problems on the fly, and doing the hundred little things an audience may never see—live theatre simply doesn’t happen without this team.

👏 Samm Weldon Wilkinson — Patron Services Manager
🍸 Savita Sinha — Bar Manager
🎩 Jase Smith Sullivan — Managing Director
✨ Saskia Price — Assistant Stage Manager
✨ Nic Hall — Assistant Stage Manager
🎧 Shawanna Hall — Production Stage Manager

Through sold-out houses, added performances, understudy adventures, quick changes, cucumber sandwiches, and all the beautiful controlled chaos of live theatre, this team has been there making it happen.

Tonight, when the lights come up and the applause begins, some of the people who deserve it most will be standing just out of sight.

❤️ Happy Closing, team! Thank you for everything you’ve done to make Earnest—and our entire 2026 Shakespeare Fest—such a wonderful success. 🎭✨
