LIGHTNING BANANA🍌

昨年、オーストラリア・コフスハーバーを訪れた際に、Matt とLightning Boltについて話したことがきっかけでアイデアを練り始め、カスタムペイントを施してついに完成。
コフスハーバーは豊かな自然に囲まれた街だけど、そこには「BIG BANANA」という街で唯一っぽいテーマパークがあって、なぜかちょっとだけ立ち寄ったんだけど、それを思い出としてこのバイクに取り入れてみた🍌⚡️

LIGHTNING BANANA 🍌
Last year, while visiting Coffs Harbour, Australia, I was talking with Matt about the Lightning Bolt, and that conversation sparked the idea for this project. After a lot of planning and refining, it finally came together the other day.

Coffs Harbour is a town surrounded by beautiful nature, but it also has a place called BIG BANANA, which feels like the town’s one and only theme park. For some reason, we made a quick stop there, and the memory stuck with me. I decided to incorporate that little piece of the trip into this bike.

As always heavily inspired by 80s BMX magazines. But how good are these builds? Should we have Latané build a couple more completes for those looking to step-up their strava this summer?

If you’re subscribed to our newsletter you may have already seen, but we dropped a new bar on the site this past week. It’s called the Fazed Out Bar. It’s basically a Towel Rack, with a 31.8 clamp diameter, extended drops like the Nullabar, and available in all the classic big ass towel rack widths, as well as a much more “normal” 560mm width. That’s 560 end to end, it’s 460 at the hoods. Check this thing out in more detail in the “Latest and Greatest” or “Handlebars” section of the site.

I had the joy of coming out of “Build Retirement” recently to whip this puppy up for and boy was it a pleasure. Those new silver double chainrings are HOT! That’s a damn fine lookin’ crank. It was fun to source some nice simple Suntour Derailleurs for this thing as well. I basically built a different version of my own bike, AGAIN, but hey, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. This was the last of the Canti Nor’Easters in 58. We’ve got a couple Canti 52’s, a couple 62 Disc’s, and a bunch of 58 Discs left. Speaking of the Disc Nor’Easter, did you know it was originally meant to be setup 26+ and still is? I’d 10 out of 10 recommend going that direction if you get one. We should have some more tires to use for that soon!

I chucked a couple new bars we got in from NITTO onto the site a week or so ago! The first bar you see with the yellow background is called the Shrike Bar. It’s just a big ol’ swept back riser bar. The second one on the pink background is called the Blitz bar and it’s a big ol’ swept back flat bar. They both are xtra-wide in their 31.8 version coming in at 800mm with plenty of grip area to chop them down if you’d like. The 26.0 clamp versions are the regular 720mm width you’d see on our other NITTO bars with the same clamp diameter. They’re both available in Dull Bright or Black. Have a swipe through here and hit the ‘Latest and Greatest’ section on the site to get some more deetz or to grab yourself a new bar!

We had the pleasure of sticking together this custom Single Speed Lightning Bolt a while back. This thing is built to the nines! It was such a joy for me to temporarily come out of build retirement and do a fender and rack install. I only threw it on for the photos, but this thing sure does look good with that SD25 bag on it. Hit us up if you’re after a custom complete of your own, we can try to make it happen for ya!
