Day after day we are seeing the conversation around maternal health and support grow louder, with today’s announcement by Olivia Walton elevating it even more. 👏👏👏 So many of us know it takes an army, a village, and so many of us working together towards this shared, critical goal to move the needle. We are proud to see how far we have all come in ensuring this care gap has visibility and a drive towards more solutions, and man we are so looking forward to seeing how much we can all accomplish together!

There aren’t words to express how it is our greatest honor to be a part of supporting a lasting legacy for Whitney.

As many of you know, we tragically lost Whitney, a former employee and dear friend earlier this year. Led by her family, the BabySteps program, in honor of Whitney Robeson, was born. To honor her legacy, their ask was that LoveSwaddles were gifted, as a way to spread lasting love and support to babies and their families across the country. To date, over 1200 swaddles and counting have travelled to healthcare systems, doula groups and midwife groups, with East Alabama Health leading the way 💜

“The swaddles provide comfort for our littlest patients while also connecting parents with resources and support during a time that can be overwhelming,” said Rosemary Cummings, executive director of Women and Children Services at EAMC. “We are grateful to see Whitney’s legacy honored in a way that will support families in Auburn and east Alabama.”

The birth is planned. The discharge is planned. The six-week visit is on the calendar. It’s the Tuesday three weeks later when she hasn’t slept, the house is quiet, and picking up the phone to ask for help feels harder than just not eating, or quietly struggling through the laundry.

People have often asked us why a blanket. Because when someone you love is going through the hardest thing, you want to do something. And so often what you can actually do is one small act in the middle of many things that feel overwhelming. You bring soup. You sit. You wrap them up.
