Such a fun challenge - the scale detailing took several hours but was well worth it. Laid out with a gouge for consistency and went in with small detailing knife. The feel of the relief carving while handling the spoon is so fun.

This commission just got shipped off, loved making it. Happy to dabble in wood burning again and especially a scrimshaw inspired piece! This is designed to be a coffee scoop, holding 2 tablespoons. Made from maple, finished with my homemade spoon butter.

Commission heading out the door tomorrow: 3 cooking spoons imitating an old spoon that had gone through the wringer. Happy to give them a refresh in slightly spalted maple.
