I was tired of paying to be rejected from opportunities in my field, So I decided to create the opportunities for myself. I had moved across the country to teach glassblowing when I was 22, because few jobs in the field existed in Richmond then. I realized it wasn’t anyone else’s responsibility to provide that job or opportunity for me- it was my own.
