The entire city of Richmond is the game board on November 7!

The Channel RVA team is putting on the “Hey Richmond Citywide Scavenger Hunt,” a one-day hunt that sends teams across our neighborhoods, local businesses, and civic landmarks. From the river to the rooftops, every stop is a real place. A storefront you love. A landmark you’ve walked past a hundred times. A corner of the city you’ve never really seen.

The hunt runs Saturday, November 7, from 9 to 5. It’s free. Play solo or bring a team of up to five. Get to the stops however you move through Richmond: on foot, on a bike, on a GRTC bus, in a wheelchair, or pushing a stroller. Paper cards are available for anyone who’d rather skip the phone.

The day ends in one place. Teams come off their routes, scores post, and Richmond closes it out together. The winning team earns dinner with city leadership at a local hotspot.

This one gives back, too. Some proceeds benefit Brown’s Island renovations.

🎯 Play: Name your team, get an invite code, and add teammates as you go.
🤝 Sponsor: Get the deck. Pricing is coming soon.
🚪 Host a stop: Local businesses can put their door on the map.
🙋 Volunteer: Sign up to work the day.

Long before the first fires were lit in the valley, a dragon slept beneath the ice: Ryuken, the Winter Dragon, a creature of legend: majestic, frozen in time, scales shining like moonlight on a still lake.

Few have ever laid eyes on it, and fewer still can say where it rests.
It wakes only rarely, in the deepest nights of winter, when the cold is sharp enough to crack teeth.

The wind dies, the snow hangs motionless in the air, and a low roar rolls across the hills.

Those who have heard it never forget it.

And when the Ryuken stirs, challengers gather from every corner of the region to test their mettle, to face rivals, and to earn a place amongst legends.

Some come to win. Some come to witness. All of them leave with an epic for the ages.

This winter, the dragon wakes again Saturday, February 6, 2027.

Conventions are about joy.

We gather, play, watch listen we read we create and come together at these shows sometimes thousands of miles apart to be in community.

We gather for the kid seeing their first cosplay walk by and realizing people like them exist. For the player who finally lands the combo they practiced for months. For the artist who sells their first print. For the parent watching their kid light up.

Deals get made, skills get built and streams are counted but joy sits at the top of the pyramid.

The world will always have noise. Metrics. Clout. Hype. Algorithms fighting for your attention. A con is where you can look past all the noise and find a moment of pure bliss.

A little spark of hope and light in a world that can feel cruel and dark.

So go. Find your joy.

We could use your help spreading the word about two openings on the ImmerseCon team. Even if these roles aren’t for you, someone in your network might be a great fit. We’re Central Virginia’s largest cross-genre gaming and STEM convention, back at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in 2027, and we’re growing the team.

Sponsorship Director
This one is for someone with a real passion for geek communities, immersive experiences, or Esports. The work is building sponsor relationships. Finding brands that fit what we do, bringing them on board, and making sure they have a great experience with us. You don’t need to be a slick salesperson. You need to believe in what we’re building and be able to share that with others.

Community Manager
This one is for someone who lives in the spaces we serve. Discord, socials, local meetups, con floors. The work is keeping our community engaged year round. Answering questions, sparking conversations, and making sure everyone who finds us feels like they belong here.
Compensation is flexible for both

If someone comes to mind, tag them below or share this post. DM us anytime and I’ll send over the full job description for either role.
