We select and place every piece of art with intention…

For this commercial client we sourced art that represents the ripples of water from the Northern Neck which softens the hard edges from the cityscape - picked a natural frame that complements and doesn’t compete with the rich wood ceiling panels - installed horizontally to “mirror” the windows on the building outside.

Your eyes take it all in — subconsciously. And the continuity of shapes and color creates visual balance that calms the mind.

There’s something about knowing someone through different stages of life - to witness their unfolding.

From a shared college experience (decades apart) at RMC to taking care of my boys to creating art for their room to being our marketing intern to being at her wedding to watching her career flourish to seeing how much she loves her family to mentoring her creative endeavors as an emerging artist!

I have known Alexa for a long time and it is amazing to watch all the things that this powerhouse woman has accomplished— and all that she can do.

Big pattern wallpaper deserves big bold art. I love layering art on wallpaper. It truly enhances both the art and the wallpaper — the solid colors in the art make your eye wander to the delicate details traced on the wallpaper. And the colors both bold and subtle work together ultimately making both pop!

When selecting art for any wall - it’s not just about the visual content of the art but how it can add interest without overwhelming the eye.

I absolutely love how the natural wood frame we selected allows the art to shine, pulls the outside in, and and doesn’t complete with the window frames (a favorite go-to champagne frame would have been way too fussy in this space!).

Plus can we talk about the layers! I love how the art plays peek-a-boo between the branches inviting to step I closer to see the details!

The outcome looks effortless and every little decision is intentional! 💕

I have a great appreciation for art. I've tried to paint a masterpiece and know that even the "simplest" abstract is not easy!! My love for art started as a young girl. I used to watch my grandmother, Nanny, make a bowl of apples come to life through charcoal and pastels. So realistic, you could reach out and grab one.

Because the artistic gene didn’t end up in my blood, I love filling my walls with a mix of art from well-known artists, my children's art projects, and treasures I have picked up from various art festivals (remind me to tell you about the first piece that my husband and I ever bought!). Every piece of art in my house reminds me of a special event, trip, and feeling. All great memories. My family and I often find unique pieces to gift each other at Christmas. I love knowing that we have similar things hanging in our houses that are over 600 miles apart.

I think that every home should have original artwork. I’ve learned that collecting original art does not have to be hard, intimidating, or expensive. You just have to know where to look.

Not everyone has the same taste in art that I do, but I love sharing the interesting and unique artwork and artists that are getting my attention. It is fun learn about each process and how the uniqueness becomes the thread that connects us all.
