So first lets start out with thanks for visiting my Face Painting page! I greatly appreciate it! So basically what I do is go to kids birthday parties and paint all their faces :) I also do festivals, flea markets, and really any type of event that involves people having fun and a good time! Also I usually get a lot of questions when I go to these events so I'll go ahead and answer them in this:
Q: How did you get started in face painting? A: I started face painting back in high school. Our neighborhood was having a blockparty and needed some entertainment for the kids. So my dad went and bought some acrylic paint and I pulled designs offline and just painted them on their faces. they weren't perfect but they all enjoyed it. From there our neighbors wanted to hire me for their kids birthdays and at each party I usually got another party booked. And that's how it all started. :)
Q: Do you do this as a full time job? This is just for fun and to keep my art skills somewhat up. Q: Is it hard? A: Well for me no. I have the ability to look at a face painting and replicate it on a child's face. Its not going to look exact but very similar. Q: Are you good at art? A: That's a really hard question to answer with a yes or no because being good at art can have so many different meanings. But I would say yes. I like art and I can draw, I just dont care for it and I don't have the patience for it. I prefer sculpting and face painting. Q: Are the paints going to irritate my skin or child's skin? I use snazaroo face paints and they are hypoallergenic, nontoxic, nonacrylic paints. They are completely safe for all skin types and wash off very easily with soap and water. (sometimes you don't even need the soap) I have used them on my 1 yr old and she has very sensitive skin and it did just fine. Q: How far will you travel to do an event? A: Since I just moved I will do just the Richmond area and I will travel back to the upper Cincinnati area. Its about an hour drive for me. So with that said if its in that area I will have to charge $15 for the driving distance. Q: How many kids can you get done in an hour? A: I can usually do 15-20 in a 2 hour session depending on what designs the kids go with. Full face designs obviously means more time. Small designs means less time. Q: Do you do half hour parties? I will not do a half hour party. If you'd me at you party for 1 1/2 hours then you will be paying for a 2 hour session.
