On The Air Radio Players The On The Air Radio Players keep the vintage art of radio theater alive through performances recorded before a live studio audience.

For over twenty-five years, On the Air Radio Players (OTARP) have kept the Golden Age of Radio alive onstage in the Greater Richmond, Virginia community. With an ever-evolving team of talented voice actors and creative sound effects artists drawn from the local community, OTARP presents classic and original old time radio shows in the style in which they were originally performed, and records them live before our studio audience at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. OTARP performs three shows a year at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, usually in late Winter, late Spring, and the Fall. What:
On the Air Radio Players invites actors to audition for “Heatwave!”
An hour of summer fun & adventure featuring two tales written by Steve Bretschneider
And directed by Gabrielle Klatt

We are seeking 8-10 voice and sound effects actors to perform two NEW scripts:
“The Creature from Bongo Beach, Baby” and “The Mask of Miasma.”
Please note that some actors may play multiple roles.

Readings will be from the script.
Rehearsals will be held at the Belmont Recreation Center.

Performances will take place Tuesday August 12th and Wednesday August 13th at the Henrico Theatre, 305 East Nine Mile Road

No performers paid.

Nancy Wright (Timmy, Foley) is excited to be making her OTARP debut with this amazing cast! A retired kindergarten teacher and avid knitter/crocheter, she fell in love with radio plays at the Mid Atlantic Nostalgia Convention, playing roles from spunky girl sidekick to Olive Oyl. Love to John!
