5o OVER 50: “There’s a myth that by fifty, you’re done growing or set in your ways. The truth is, it’s never too late to reclaim who you are and step into a whole new adventure.”

Welcome Tina Conti!

A few years back, she and her husband left Florida to buy a historic mansion in Richmond. What began as an exciting fresh start quickly turned intense when the local newspaper called to ask who they were and what they planned to do.

Suddenly, Tina wasn't just a homeowner; she was a public curiosity. The entire town had opinions and expectations. It was disorienting for her, but even harder on her husband, who is quiet, introverted, and genuinely hates being the center of attention. Navigating that public eye together required deep patience and grace.

What felt like overwhelming pressure at first ultimately became an invitation for growth. Tina had to learn to sit with being watched, stand tall in her space, and realize she could handle far more visibility and uncertainty than she ever gave herself credit for.

For awhile, the main thing I felt drawn to photograph were weddings. Who doesn't love LOVE, right? There are a lot of photographers out there who might say I was crazy. Maybe so. Wedding days are long, often times held outside during summer heat, physical in nature, and 8 hours of people management--guiding, directing, corralling all while trying to look for shots, tending to your gear, fluffing a dress, carrying the bride's lipstick, and keeping yourself hydrated. That's just on the day of the wedding. I won't even get into the work that comes in the following days as you cull and process the images, retouch, and then prepare them in a way the bride and groom can relive their special day. Yeah, crazy might be a good description. 😂

So, I re-evaluated how I wanted to spend my time. I wanted to focus on developing my skills in the studio, slow the pace down, enjoy some A/C in the summer and heat in the winter, focus on one or two people at a time and not large wedding parties, create an environment where people could learn to feel comfortable in front of a camera, and keep telling stories.

Taking a break has been a good choice. Then came Marisa and Reza--and an engagement session at the . We slowed down the pace, caught the quiet moments, and I felt myself being pulled again toward raw, unscripted emotion between two people.

While I’m not looking to fill my calendar with marathon weddings like before, I can feel myself opening up to small, intimate celebrations and intentional spaces. There's something undeniably special about stepping into a couple's world as they mark such a big milestone.

The countdown is officially on for Marisa and Reza--13 days until they say "I do" in Indianapolis, and I’m truly thrilled to celebrate with them both and translate all their love into images they'll keep forever.

Over the past few weeks, I've had the humble privilege of reading through submissions and nominations for my upcoming breast cancer portrait series—an initiative made possible through the generous support of the Women's Fund of Wayne County and the Deer Family Fund.

Every story shared with me was a quiet, powerful reminder of resilience, vulnerability, and love. I am deeply honored that each recipient opened up and shared their personal breast cancer journey with me so candidly. I have already learned so much from every single one of them. It is a privilege to be even a small part of their process—whether that means celebrating moments of hope or getting real about the very raw hardships that cancer brings to an individual and their family.

One of the hardest parts of this process for me was knowing that spots were limited. Every single story submitted was moving, and I truly wish we had the capacity to feature every person who was nominated. Each individual's journey holds incredible weight, and every story deserves to be heard and honored.

This project was created with a simple purpose: to offer a gentle, supportive space where women of all ages who are navigating or surviving breast cancer can be seen, honored, witnessed and celebrated exactly as they are—in all their strength, softness, and individuality.

The nominees selected for this series:
Julie Dishman
Teri Grossman
Christy Tollett
Mary Gethers
Leslie Werking
Misty Hollis

To everyone who took the time to share a piece of their life or nominate someone they care for: thank you for your trust and openness. I'm grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside these individuals and highlight the grace and bravery within our community.

“What am I going to wear?” 😅

If you’ve ever thought about booking a portrait session, bo***ir session, branding shoot, or senior portraits, chances are you’ve asked yourself this question.

And honestly? You’re not alone.

I’ve had clients spend weeks worrying about outfits before they ever step in front of the camera. They wonder if they have the right clothes, if they’ll look good in photos, or if they’re somehow going to show up completely unprepared.

The truth is, what you wear absolutely matters but it doesn’t have to be stressful.

The right outfit can help you feel confident, comfortable, and like the very best version of yourself. But figuring that out doesn’t have to be something you do alone.

That’s exactly why I created my FREE Style Guide. ✨

Inside, you’ll find tips on choosing outfits that photograph beautifully, what to avoid, how to coordinate looks, and how to feel confident walking into your session.

Because I want you focused on enjoying the experience not stressing about your closet.

Drop FREEBIE in the comments and I’ll send it your way.

This is your last chance to reserve your portrait experience before registration closes.

Earlier this year, a client almost canceled her session because she hadn't felt beautiful in a long time. After seeing her portraits, she shared something I'll never forget:

*"You brought back someone who had been hidden for a long time."*

That's the power of seeing yourself through a different lens.

This isn't just about photographs. It's about confidence. It's about reconnecting with yourself. It's about finally stepping out from behind the camera and celebrating the woman you are today.

If you've been thinking about booking, waiting for the right time, or telling yourself "maybe later" this is your sign.

✨ The opportunity ends tonight.
✨ Limited spots remain.
✨ Once registration closes, it closes.

Don't miss the chance to create something you'll treasure for years to come.

Click the link in my bio now to claim one of the final remaining spots before they're gone.

I know how easy it is to put this off.

To tell yourself you'll book the session next month.
Or next season.
Or when life feels a little less busy.

But if you've been thinking about creating portraits that celebrate this season of your life, this is the moment.

Double Your Dollars ends tomorrow at midnight.

For every dollar you prepay, you'll receive the same amount back in studio credit to use toward your session, images, prints, albums, and wall art.

The offer disappears tomorrow.
The memories don't.

✨ Don't let this be another thing you meant to do someday.

Click the link in bio and secure your spot before it ends!

Earlier this year, I received a message I'll never forget.

A woman came into her session feeling nervous and unsure of herself. She almost canceled because she hadn't felt beautiful in a very long time.

Then she saw her portraits.

Her husband later wrote, "You absolutely made her day. Can't wait to fill our walls with her beautiful smile."

And she shared something that brought tears to my eyes:

"You brought back someone who had been hidden for a long time."

That's why I do what I do.

Portraits are so much more than photographs. They are a reminder of your strength, your beauty, and the person you've always been beneath the self-doubt.

If you've been waiting for a sign to step in front of the camera, this is it. You deserve to see yourself the way the people who love you already do.

Grab your spot with the link in my bio.
