"Hark" ...the youngest angel of the Herald's choir

'Tis the season of angelic choirs. I wanted to create an image reflective of the season, yet not so "traditional"; hence, enter "Hark", the youngest angel wearing a beanie cap. ~Ed Schrader

Don't Blame the Moon

This is one of many 3-D paintings I have done here and in Paris, France (where I lived for 27 years). It is 4x4 foot and made from various types of clay, mat board, gauze, canvas, brass, and painted with acrylic paint. I distort the perspective of the room to echo the shape and position of the subject, much in a cubist manner. The central figure is also cubist in design, with a play between concave and convex. This work is cubist in design, but emotion is a strong element- cubist surrealism.

Colorado Streams

As we stepped out of the restaurant that afternoon, the sun lit up the stream that wound its way behind the building. A handful of people were already fishing, lines resting quietly on the water. Off to the side, a young boy had just begun. He sat with quiet focus, carefully setting up to bait his hook before his first cast. There was an unhurried peace about it, the shimmer of sunlight on the water, the murmur of the stream, and the stillness of a moment just about to begin. Colorado Streams.

"ol' red barn"

A watercolor technique I've developed and applied to my image of a dilapidated barn structure aging quietly in a desolate farmland and unobserved by passersby, that caught my eye with its deterioration and abandonment.

Tinkerbell's Lament

All those we love do not always love us in return. The heart breaks. We see our love in everything around us. It seems overwhelming. But the fairy must cry her tears in order to heal and move on. There is beauty in the world to help ease our pain.

This is a digital drawing done on an iPad with and Apple Pencil in Fresco. This is not AI. It is part of my Storybook Series. The drawing took around a year to complete and was finished in 2024. When I sell my prints, I send the buyer a seek-n-find list and a magnifying glass.. I'm obsessive about details.

Seek list: 3 images of Peter Pan, Parrot, Flute, Book, Hook, 3 Fairies, Apple, Sword, 5 beetles, 5 Lightning Bugs, 5 Fish, 2 Frogs, Postcard, Spyglass, 4 Lamps, Ticking Clock, 2 Jolly Rogers, Turtle, Arrow, Acorns, Heart, 5 butterflies, Grasshopper and Cricket, Crocodile

"Ellis doorway"

The attached imagery, "Ellis doorway," is somewhat a combination of a photo my friend and watercolor artist Scott Love took whilst at Ellis Island, NYC, recently, that I saw, and I asked if I could apply my "art" to it. He said "yes" and allowed me to post it under my pictures/prints as it was significantly transformed from that of the original (note: the "original" photo will be provided to you upon request).

This imagery represents the beaten passageway of millions of immigrants who passed through these dingy hallwalls leading to this doorway, leaving the dim hopes of freedom many had experienced traversing the Atlantic to the brightness of their new lives in the USA on the other side of the portal.

About this artist: Ed Schrader is a mediocre photographer from Midlothian, VA, with some unique skills in post-production and original artistry. I started out with drone photography and explored the various different means of post-production app/techniques, etc., more so to enhance, embellish, and/or give the subject a memorable image. I have also worked with other photographers/artists in having their imagery/art viewed/transformed via my "prism".
