: This month we introduce a new thing! Beginning August 12th Reggae One Drop will feature a DJ from a revolving roster of the area's best, spinning reggae, reggaeton, dancehall and lover's rock before and after the jam!

This month's guest DJ is Jonathan "J. Kirven"! He has become known for popularizing - and in some cases, introducing - South Africa's distinct amapiano sound to the Richmond region. His electrifying mixes have gained him a loyal audience and we are excited to have him ply his ear to the pulse of Jamaica on Monday, August 12th, 7pm at Barvina Jamaican Restaurant.

How it goes:
7pm - 8:30 : DJ w/happy hour food and drinks specials
8:30 - 11pm : The Community Jam
11pm - 12am : DJ w/late bar

:: Who be the sacred feminine energy establishing the foundation for One Drop's high vibes to flow? We are THE LADY DROPS!

From front-facing and welcoming the community to behind-the-scenes securing the admin. While I'm hopping around with a mic-n-my-hand, these are the sistas that smoothly move the movement forward. I am SO grateful for these two.

To paraphrase Ras Crucial Fiya said as we three and a few of the fellas strolled Albany after the show: "I have never been on the road with [a group of] women before. Y'all soften the space [because] men are so 'RAH RAH' *makes like an aggressive, double f***y motion* It feels real good."

Sista Ayanna McMullen and Sista Shani Bakari, it's been a year since One Drop was established. You've eased the weight and my challenges. At this point, I would neva...neva EVA neva want to do it without you. I give all the thanks for you.
