Wow! We are always amazed at the rich history in our beautiful building.

To***co Bag -
* Scotten, Dillon Company, Detroit, Mich.
* The To***co Workers International Union stamp/label
* The same distinctive red circular pattern found on documented Union Workman bags
* The older paper/foil construction

Detroit Historical Society has an actual Union Workman chewing-tobacco bag made by Scotten, Dillon Co. that they date specifically to c. 1940, and it has the same red-and-blue decorative pattern and paper-bag construction.

There are examples described as 1930s, while the Detroit Historical Society’s museum example is c. 1940, so I’d estimate yours at roughly 1935–1940, or about 86–91 years old.

Wood Screws- The box says:
* “One Gross” — 144 screws
* #14 Round Head Iron
* Blued
* Wood Screws
* American Screw Company
* Providence, Rhode Island

The “blued” designation is particularly useful. Historical trade literature shows the American Screw Company was selling blued round-head iron wood screws as early as 1886, so the terminology itself is much older than the box.

When creating your wedding timeline, don't fill every minute. Give yourself time to breathe, enjoy your guests, and actually take in the day you've spent so much time planning.

Here are a few wedding planning tips!
1. Use the whole venue!
- Don't feel like everything has to happen in one room. Take advantage of the different spaces throughout our venue.
2. Don't forget about cocktail hour!
- Give your guests somewhere to gather, grab a drink, enjoy appetizers, and mingle while you take photos.
3. Let the venue's character do some of the decorating.
- Eight to the Bar already has historic charm and beautiful details. You don't have to decorate every corner; sometimes less is more.
