We are working our way through all 20 of the short list and it has some heaters on it. This list always shows me how broad the music here in Richmond, but the thing that binds the many genres is quality. Bravo to all the nominees.

HearRVA was invited to checkout Back to the Future: The Musical at the Altria Theater. Some of our favorite scenes were:
The “Johnny B. Goode” moment when Marty starts shredding and the crowd gets confused? That’s literally every Tuesday night at The Camel. “I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet... but your kids are gonna love the experimental noise-folk-punk fusion. 😂
We also enjoyed any moment that had the Delorean in it. The production was incredible!

Richmond Hip-Hop ambassador brought some dope songs to last night. He also gave RVA a few great featured artists like and too.

A few years back Richmond artist / co-founder created this piece of art to celebrate the time that D’Angelo filmed his music video for “Lady” at Southside Plaza on Hull st.

On a personal note, it’s been incredible to see the outpouring of love and how much inspiration was taken from I heard over and over that knowing he was from Richmond, made the impossible seem within reach.

Be good to each other and don’t let that light dim. ✌️
