Take a closer look at these works by Richmond’s own (Briian Dargon). At first glance it might look like paint texture, but it's actually painstaking, hand-stitched detail. Every layer of material is sewn by hand with some special kind of patience. The amount of time and literal labor poured into these pieces is mind-blowing and has to be seen in real life...

Curious who the dancers are in our newest mural?
They’re three incredible young artists from Brown Ballerinas for Change — a Richmond-born movement that began with a single, powerful image in 2020: two young ballerinas standing poised before the former Lee Monument. What started as a viral moment has grown into an organization using dance to spark empowerment, education, and social justice.
Today we’re honored to celebrate these dancers through our latest mural by . Come see it for yourself 👀 … better yet, catch the Brown Ballerinas performing LIVE at our community celebration!

We’re VERY excited over here at ArtHouse and Port City to have our very own mural. Nico is a Richmond-based painter known for her bold, realism-based murals that celebrate strength, identity, and our connection to nature. As a Deaf/Hard of Hearing artist and member of the all-women’s mural crew Few and Far, Nico uses her art to amplify underrepresented voices and remind us how creativity brings communities together. You’ve likely seen her bold, story-driven work across the city— you really can’t miss them!
