Hey, nerds! 👋🏻🤓✨

Living in Richmond, we know this city is a community full of goths, punks, and metalheads. Chances are, you’ve seen someone out and about before sporting a patchwork of their favorite bands with a heavy helping of spikes and studs that they’ve fashioned into a battle vest or battle jacket! 🎨🧵🔩⚙️

We certainly have, and so we got to thinking—what if we took the concept of a battle jacket, and made ones that celebrate all things fantasy, whether it be cosplay, renaissance faires, fantasy music, tabletop gaming, video games, or simply our love for all things whimsical? 🦄✨

We wanna do just that, and you’re invited! 🤩

Please join us for this very special edition of our Community Craft Night on Friday, October 23rd, 2026 at Virago Alley’s Headquarters (200 W. Marshall St. Suite 200) from 6-9 PM! 🏰⚔️🧚🏼‍♂️✨

The sign-up form for Community Craft Night can be found via the QR code in the flyer, and at the link in our bio! 🎨✨

There are only three spots left in this weekend’s Wizard Hat Making Workshop 🔮

This workshop, taught by BRANDI • WALKER, will teach you how to fabricate the perfect hat for your magical needs. Students will leave with their own hat, a custom pattern so that they may make more, and the confidence to do just that.

✨IMPORTANT NOTE✨
There is a prerequisite for this class. Students are expected to know how to sew a basic stitch on their own sewing machine.

If you’re looking to add to your Ren Faire costume selection, or even do some last minute Halloween prep, this may be the class for you!

More information is available via the Education Portal in our bio!

Thank you to everyone who came to the Reenactment Ring Belt Workshop yesterday taught by Ty Pittman aka Barry and Larry 🖤

Eight students each prepared and dyed their own ring belts, walking away with base level leather working knowledge and their own quality, handmade piece that they can cherish for years to come.

This was a great way to kick off our first season of programming in the new space. If you are interested in checking out future programming, check out the Education Portal in our bio!

This First Friday we will be spotlighting the 🔥Fire Guild🔥 with an installation of video projections by Todd Raviotta showcasing 🔊🔥🎪 P L F 🎪🔥🔊 community footprint over the last two decades.

This October marks the 20th anniversary of this organization that has brought countless performances, workshops, and a dedication to keeping Richmond’s arts and culture community weird at a grassroots level throughout the span of that time.

You can see 🔊🔥🎪 P L F 🎪🔥🔊 spinning fire and performing live DJ sets outside as a part of the annual Carnival of 5 Fires in partnership with Gallery5 and Richmond Moon Market. The exhibition at Gallery5 this month is also dedicated to displaying works by artists from PLF to commemorate this anniversary.

Kick off spooky season with us this Friday and celebrate 20 years of PLF and the joy, whimsy, and empowerment that they bring to our community 🔥

We will have offerings by Blue Bee Cidery upstairs in addition to the installation by Todd Raviotta. Pop up, grab a drink, say hi, and enjoy a recap of the evolution of Party Liberation Foundation.
