There’s a whole lot more that goes into a drill horse than learning the pattern. ❤️🖤🐎

Behind the speed, the precision, and the excitement you see in the arena are countless hours spent building confidence and trust.

Flag work.
Desensitization to loud music and speakers.
Learning to ride comfortably nose-to-tail and shoulder-to-shoulder with other horses.
Handling noise, movement, crowds, and commotion.
And doing it all while staying tuned in to their rider.

Today’s lesson: the speaker. 🔊🐎

We ask a lot of our horses when they step into that arena with the Stateline Hotshots, so we put just as much time into preparing them for everything they might encounter.

The performance may only last a few minutes—but the work behind it happens all year long. 🔥❤️🖤

No spur straps? No problem. 😂🐎
Never underestimate the versatility of rubber bands and baling twine— improvise, adapt, and ride on. 🤠

It’s in the worn leather and dusty boots.
The quiet moments before the gate opens.
The feel of the reins in your hands and a good horse underneath you.

It’s grit and grace.
Tradition and courage.
And a love for this life that’s hard to put into words.

Today we celebrate the cowgirls — past, present, and still becoming.

Happy National Day of the Cowgirl. ❤️🖤

September sunsets always make for the best practice!

Some nights you work hard. Some nights you stop and take in the view. Tonight, we got to do both. ❤️

Beautiful horses. Beautiful sunset. And one pretty incredible group of riders.

Just another night with the Stateline Hotshots. 🔥🐎❤️🖤
