Re/MIX is a nomadic workshop series designed to travel throughout our community, activating local spaces and turning them into hubs of creativity. For this stop, we are teaming up with the Richmond Public Library for a session dedicated entirely to the art of the headpiece.
Led by Artist & Fashion Designer, Kimberly Antoinette, this Bucket and Trucker Hat Edition invites you to slow down and explore the art of upcycling. We provide the lunch, the hats, and the professional tools—you bring the creative spirit. Using signature "no-sew" techniques and fabric remnants, you’ll learn how to transform simple headwear into a custom wearable narrative.
Whether you are customizing one of our provided hats or giving a second life to a denim jacket from your own closet, you'll discover how to transform reclaimed materials into a wearable reflection of your own journey and style.. This is an inclusive space for adults (18+) to connect, share stories, and build community through the joy of making. Everything is provided at no cost to you.

Come see something fascinating at the El Cerrito City Hall Art Gallery! These insect portraits began as Gail Morrison’s large pen-and-ink drawings, which she scanned. The insects’ elaborate and fanciful environments were created digitally, beginning with fractal patterns and using many layers of textures, colors and imagery. The pixels on these layers combine and interact with each other digitally, in varying ways and to varying degrees. Gail is especially interested in interweaving patterns and textures to establish an emotional background for an image that will evoke stories in the mind and heart of the viewer. Free admission. Show runs until June 18.
