On Monday July 3, 2017 Jonathan O'shaughnessy, 24, was walking home from a community 4th of July dance with family members when a late 1990's/early 2000 grey/tan/white minivan drove by and fired 4-5 shots Jonathan was hit multiple times and died at the scene. Jonathan was a victim of a random driveby shooting. He was murdered blocks from where he grew up in Richfield, MN. Jonathan had NO enemies -

Jonathan's life was cut short and his family and friends are shocked at this senseless tragic act of violence. Jonathan loved his family and friends and would do anything for them.. His smile would light up the room and you knew that a huge hug would soon be followed. Police are asking for the public's help as investigators look for answers in this drive by shooting. Crime Stoppers of Minnesota has increased its reward for information in this case to $4500 and the family is offering a $50,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the persons or persons responsible for Jonathan's murder.. Starting our 9th year! Adopt a Highway Freeway CLEAN..

This will be Justice for Jonathan O'Shaughnessy's 9th Year of Adopt a Highway cleanups. This program requests Spring and fall cleanups with the
possibiltiy of a mini summer checkover. 🙂 We appreciate everyone who comes to help and remember with us: Jonathan O'Shaughnessy. We honor Remember Jonathan with our many "Pay it Forward" Events.

Saturday April 18, 2026 - meet at 9AM parking lot off Cedar Ave/Hwy 77 & Diagonal Boulevard..
Sturdy shoes and long sleeves/pants - we provide the bags and safety vests. We have the area from Hwy494/Cedar Ave/Hwy77 to Crosstown Hwy 62..
Bags re left on the side for the Freeway Department to pick up. This event will be posted on FB also - please RSVP if you can. Thankyou!!

We are honoring Jonathan by collecting Food or donations for the Justice for Jonathan O'Shaughnessy Free Pantry - Free Community Pantry located on 65th and 16th. We will be at Jonathan Memorial Bench 64th & 4th Ave. about 10am on Monday February 9 if you'd like to drop off food items non perishable or personal needs items- prior donations have gone in the pantry and donations to 2 schools in January.
Donations can be given on our GoFund Me page to under Jonathan O'Shaughnessy Memorial; it will come up -click on the page and go under Donate Now. Thank you everyone who helps keep Jonathans story, memory and your love for him alive and going.

December 13 2025 - starting 11:00am. Get there early for parking and program.
You can also sponsor wreaths for family and veterans at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
