I am so very excited to finally be putting "Project Blocks for Heroes"
into action! My first class for gifting these blocks will be Saturday
Oct. 22 at 1:00 at the Quality Center. Please message me if you can make
it (if you haven't already) so I can make sure to have enough sets
available. (email, facebook or text me at 893-8087)
Please remember that this set does not have to be sent to your soldier.
It can be used however you wish.
For the class you will need:
Paper trimmer
scissors
6-8 pictures NO BORDERS (black & white, color and sepia)
Because of purchases made since the early stages of Woodzy Chic this past
year, I am able to gift several military families with their own set of
HERO Puzzle Blocks.
Why am I doing this? It all started with the stationing of my
brother-in-law in Korea and thinking about my 2 nieces and 1 nephew who
would be without their daddy for so long. My local National Guard unit
was scheduled to deploy within a few months and my heart strings wanted to
do something. I designed a set of small wooden blocks and a special tray
for putting pictures on to create 6 different puzzles, one for each side
of the blocks. It seemed like a good way to "play" with a loved one...in a
sense.
I have since watched all of my children, nieces and nephews "play" with
many family members by holding each little block and naming who they find
on HERO puzzle sets and on ABC sets. The tender gasps of recognition as
they find a face they love and know on each block makes the hours spent on
each of my projects a worthwhile journey.
As my local unit is now overseas, I am trying to gift the family of each
soldier with one set of HERO Puzzle Blocks through "Project Blocks for
Heroes". With each purchase of any HERO Puzzle Block set or ABC Block
Set, I will be able to gift these awesome families. My first gifting will
be this Saturday, October 22. I am so excited to help each wife or mother
make a personal treasure.
Thank you to all who support "Project Blocks for Heroes" and Woodzy Chic.
We love and support our troops for serving their missions and making such
great sacrifices.
