Today at the Dallas Police Department headquarters, we had a Veteran Appreciation Luncheon after Memorial Day, celebrating years of meaningful service and the season’s spirit of gratitude, unity, and giving. A big thank you to the Dallas Police Department Community Affairs Division for organizing, and to all Veterans for joining us in this meaningful gathering.

Saturday, 5/9/2026. AAPI festival organized by Dallas Police Department Community Affairs and AT&T Arts Performing Center. We had the privilege of attending this beautifully organized family friendly art & culture festival for the fourth time this year with our water marbling art, traditional customs photo booth and dessert booth. It was a unique and enriching experience to learn, contribute and share.

On May 7, we had the privilege of attending the 45th National Prayer Day of Thanks-Giving Foundation, held at the Meyerson Symphony Center. It was a very inclusive and amazingly beautiful and meaningful event. Similar to the event and the venue, our table was filled with diverse voices and perspectives, truly representing the rich diversity of our community. It was inspiring to be part of such a meaningful event, gathering with many people from diverse faith in prayer. We are grateful for our friends who joined us

Last Saturday, Dialogue Institute Dallas hosted a delightful Cooking Class, bringing people together in a fun and engaging atmosphere. 🍳

The class offered a hands-on experience where participants not only learned new recipes but also shared conversations, laughter, and cultural insights along the way. Cooking side by side created a natural space for connection and friendship.

We were especially happy to see such a warm and enthusiastic participation. Moments like these show how simple activities can turn into meaningful experiences that strengthen community bonds.

Last Wednesday, March 11, we had the pleasure of hosting a Community Ramadan Dinner in partnership with the The Thanks-Giving Foundation / Thanks-Giving Square at the beautiful Thanksgiving Square Garden in downtown Dallas.

The evening brought together neighbors, interfaith friends, and community leaders to share a meal, meaningful conversations, and cultural traditions that reflect the spirit of Ramadan—reflection, generosity, and togetherness.

Following the welcome remarks by Kyle Ogden, we were honored to have Faye Lane, the Artist-in-Residence at Thanks-Giving Square, warmly welcome everyone and help set the tone for an evening centered on art, spirituality, and community.

Our guests enjoyed several traditional cultural presentations. A Whirling Dervish performance offered a glimpse into a centuries-old spiritual practice from the Mevlevi Sufi tradition, symbolizing a journey toward love, harmony, and spiritual reflection. Attendees also experienced Ebru (Turkish water marbling)—a traditional art form where intricate patterns are created on water and transferred onto paper—along with demonstrations of Tezhip, the classical art of Ottoman manuscript illumination known for its delicate gold and floral designs.

Throughout the evening, entertainers wearing historical traditional clothing added a festive cultural atmosphere to the garden.

We were honored to welcome members of our broader community, including our interfaith partners, as well as public servants who continue to strengthen community relationships. We are grateful to Bob Kehr, Plano City Council Place 2 and Councilman Dan Barrios, Richardson City Council Place 3 for joining us, alongside our friends from the Dallas Police Department Community Affairs and the FBI Community Outreach team.

During the program, we also shared a short four-minute reflection video connecting the spirit of Ramadan with the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, highlighting the shared values of freedom, pluralism, and community that bring people of diverse backgrounds together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the Thanks-Giving Foundation for their partnership and hospitality in creating such a meaningful evening in the heart of Dallas.
