I was at the Black Tie and Boots inaugural ball one year. Charlie had played just before Jack Ingram. My date was only interested in the acts she had heard of, so I walked in to listen to Jack. This was when Jack was still good. I was standing there and this tall guy walks up next to me and starts talking to me. I look up and it’s Charlie Robison! As nice and personable guy as you would want to meet. I never got to see him perform but I’ve played My Hometown a lot and I recently played El Cerrito Place at a bar in Virginia and at TXM in Lindale. Rest in peace brother.
