For the last lecture of the Artist Lecture Series, we will be hosting Tiffany Lin this. As always, her talk will be on Thursday, April 28th at 6pm in Raggio 2006. See you there!

Tiffany Lin is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her work examines how power is expressed through the subtext of American vernacular. Through a practice that spans drawing, installation, and social practice, Lin demonstrates how bureaucratic systems and language marks non-white bodies as conditional. How are identities and the desire for belonging exploited by both the state and private enterprise? In what manner are bodies valued or devalued in the undertow of commercialism? Utilizing both creative and sociological methods, Lin combines participatory action, interviews, and social theory to expose the political construction of identity and belonging.

Lin holds an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Illustration Practice and a BA in Gender & Women's Studies and Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Lin teaches in the Department of Art at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a Visiting Assistant Professor.
