Directors Notes:
Well, 4 down, 5 to go. Saturday evening this show took a giant leap and became its own beast. I am releasing the beast on you Reno. This is a bad ass beast that will rock you, make you think, and engage you fully. This beast will get you in its jaws and wont let go. I am so proud of this show and all the artists and crew. It is theirs now. I walk now and join what I hope will be throngs of people to watch these amazing folks blow your minds.
On that note, I make an impassioned plea to you Reno. Don't let this go unnoticed, I explore you, come see this show, bring friends. This show is one that needs an audience, one that begs you to join in the fun, become a part of it. Like BM, this show begs you to become involved. I promise you, you will have fun. I can promise you, you will never see another theatrical show like this in Reno for a long time, even at Pioneer. This show is one of a kind and deserves to be supported. (I would say this is true of many shows in Reno). We knew going in this would be tough. We are not in a traditional theatre venue. We are doing a relatively unknown show by a pulitzer prize winning playwright and actor. We knew the show has weird language and is very challenging.(I wish I could bend Sam Shepard's ear and let him know the best production ever produced of his play is happening in Reno NV and get his butt here.) We knew we did not have a lot of ad money. We did this show knowing all of this because we believed we had the right people to do it the right way.
I make this request to all of you Artists, Burners, Thinkers, Rock and Rollers, not for financial reasons or ego. I ask you to come to support the numerous artists and crew that gave up a lot of time and effort to put together a very difficult show. I want people to see this show to support them. The Amazing band, the brilliant actors, the mind boggling tech crew, the space. I want their hard work to be witnessed. Come witness, come testify, come open your soul to, The Tooth of Crime.
