What a beautiful way to connect our dance community at this time!
Sierra Nevada Ballet and I would like to INVITE dancers from all around the world to join together in dance to share a spirit of love and connectivity. I am sending a link to this beautiful music composed by Claire Sokol and ask that each of you choreograph a short phrase of this music (your choice) and post it (and also please send it to me with your name and contact information) so that we may join together in dance and combine all the choreography and create a world wide virtual ballet together.
Art is not limited to race, gender, religion, social status, political affiliations…etc. Art brings man to a higher spiritual place. Now is the time for all of us throughout the world to come together.

I heard this piece of music and- though I did not understand the words at the time-the music filled me with a spirit of love connectivity and hope.
I have always thought that art should be representative of the time and that we as artists should lead society forward.
My proffered art is ballet and it has been my life-both my parents were ballet dancers; I was a professional ballerina with a 28 year stage career and have taught ballet, directed and choreographed for over 49 years. Music and Ballet inspire me to be a better human being.
Claire Sokol wrote this beautiful piece of music based on the words of Saint Teresa and sent it out to Carmelite sisters all over the world and then created a virtual chorus.
