HEARTWARMING COMMUNITY MOMENT 💙🐈‍⬛

Gary Herrmann, one of our regular hockey skaters, was kind enough to donate a copy of his original children’s book “Sylvia’s Big Adventure” to our little free library in the lobby! 🥹

The book, which is filled with amazing illustrations by Melissa L. Dalton, tells the real-life story of Sylvia: a silver tabby cat who must find her way home.

In case you haven't heard, we're taking out the ice next month! This kind of maintenance refresh is essential to maintaining quality indoor ice, preventing unexpected closures, and ensuring our rink is ready for increasingly busy hockey seasons.

For you rink regulars out there, the last three weeks of July is a great time to take a vacation or engage in your favorite off-ice activities! We'll be sure to keep you posted on our social channels about progress + updates 💙

Reno Ice's rink will temporarily close next month to replace the current ice ahead of its hockey season.

BIG NEWS 📰 You’re looking at the next generation of leadership at Reno Ice!

Official as of today, long-time rink staff Mallory Precord & Trista Tookey are stepping into the roles of General Manager & Asst. General Manager (respectively).

These two women have worked together seamlessly over the past year to overcome challenges, identify opportunities for growth, & substantially grow our programs + outreach efforts. They approach the job of running our year-round, increasingly busy ice rink with integrity & passion every day.

We are grateful to the VP of our Board, Cam Sorenson, for acting as interim GM while Mallory & Trista adapted to added responsibilities in recent months. With a wealth of hockey, coaching, and outreach experience behind these two, the future of Reno Ice is looking bright! 😎

As we continue to grow, we ask all our skaters/guests to please respect our facility, staff, and coaches to keep Reno Ice a safe and welcoming environment for all. That means:

✅ Being patient with employees when it’s busy
✅ Following safety + locker room protocol
✅ Heeding instructions of skate monitors/coaches
❌ NOT hitting pucks or throwing balls at walls
❌ NOT littering or tagging around the rink
❌ NOT engaging in hostile or threatening behavior toward others
