Wednesday 2/12! Please come support local high school students as they compete in the 2025 Poetry Out Loud Washoe County Semi-Finals. Poetry Out Loud is a national competition in poetry recitation, and the winner of tomorrow night's semi-finals will advance to the Nevada state-level competition this spring! Year after year, the students always blow us away with their performances of significant poetic works. 5:30 pm at Holland Project • in partnership with Nevada Arts Council

LOOK UP 👏 The HP Billboard Gallery has returned for another round with three artist billboards now on view in Reno + Sparks and we’re so excited! Keep your eyes peeled to see artworks by local artists Iyana Esters, Candace Nicol Garlock and Corey Gyll. After a significant amount of thought and internal discussion, we have decided we will no longer be utilizing Facebook for the immediate future and will be going dark on both the Holland Reno and The Holland Project pages at the beginning of next week (6/15). This means we will no longer be using it to promote our programming or events, and will no longer be responding to messages. We will leave the pages up for the time being for archival purposes.

We’ve felt for some time that this platform does not represent Holland’s mission and goals, and in this current day and age we are seeing it become more actively detrimental to our work, with algorithms that favor misinformation, and promote conflict over community. We know we’re certainly not the first organization to make this move, as we see more and more people moving away from this platform.

We will continue to actively promote our workshops, galleries, educational programming, community events, music, and activist work via Instagram (), Twitter (), and our website Hollandreno.org.
