5th year RTIA Show veteran creates incredible statement pieces and talisman jewelry.

Born in the Bay Area, Nicole spent her 20’s in Lake Tahoe where she fell in love with the
magic and allure of natural gemstones. It all began with wire wrapping stones on her
days off. The more she made, the more others wanted to purchase her creations. With every sale, she reinvested in new tools and supplies and she grew her hobby into a
business. After moving to Reno in her 30’s, she started a family and honed her craft as
she discovered silver smithing.

Nicole is not only a talented creator, but a bright light in Reno's supportive arts community. We've been lucky to have her showcasing her work and her shining spirit on the showfloor since 2022.

We are thrilled to welcome Marc Oakley () and Arianne Zucker of the film MIMICS to the RTIA Show!

Did you know that February 11 is officially MIMICS Day here in Reno? This Reno-made 'soft horror' film follows impressionist Sam Reinhold, down on his luck, who makes a pact with a puppet named Fergus that promises to bring him fame but instead leads to danger for those he loves.

Come hear about the making of the film, its creative vision and its significant impact on Reno's economy and culture. Not to be missed!

Caryn Summers of returns to the RTIA Show after debuting within the Spotlight NV showcase last year.

From the artist:
"When I’m working on a piece, I become the teller of its story. My medium is not oil or acrylic. It is nature and the story that waits to be unraveled through the medium of natural fibers. My paint brush may be a strand of wool, a fiber created from rose bushes and pearl powder, or natural silk.... Much of my wool comes straight from the farm, and I insist on washing it myself. The embellishments on my pieces are equally full of stories: vintage brooches and pendants from the 1940’s and 50’s, feathers that are ethically gathered from birds free in nature, and recycled sari silk remnants made in India… oh the stories they could tell!"

Welcoming Swetha Vijayaraghavan (.studio) to the 5th annual RTIA Show!

A San Francisco-based artist and Senior Product Manager by day, Swetha finds her truest expression in the vibrant world of acrylic paints during the rest of her hours. Her journey into art began in 2015, sparked by a transformative moment at the Crystal Bridges art museum in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Surrounded by the expressive brushstrokes and bold colors of the masters, Swetha felt a profound connection that ignited a passion to capture the world around her in a new light. With this inspiration, she picked up a brush and began her self-taught exploration of acrylics.
Since that pivotal moment, she has honed her skills, dedicating herself to landscapes, florals, and portraiture. Each piece is a testament to her deep love for nature and the human form, brought to life through a captivating blend of bold colors and textured brushwork. Her landscapes transport viewers to breathtaking vistas, while her floral pieces celebrate the intricate details and vibrant energy of the natural world. In her portraits, Swetha seeks to go beyond a likeness, striving to capture the unique essence, emotions, and stories of each individual.

A warm welcome to Diego Vilela, aka SUPERDAY (.art) to the 5th annual RTIA Show!

"...Many of my portraits feature subjects with bandages, scratches and tears rolling down their faces, outward expressions of internal wounds. However, these portraits in many ways aren’t sad, they represent on some level or another the healing I’ve experienced, and they invite the viewer into the hope that they can heal too... By using limited detail and simple backgrounds, I want to give space for the viewer to fill in the gaps, finish the story and find their own connections to my art (and hopefully healing)." - .art

Viela is a first generation American artist residing in the Bay Area known for his energetic and bold portraits. With no formal training, Diego has been able to learn and discover his limitations in his art practice, while not being held back by them; The discovery of what’s possible in real time is a huge motivator for him.
