Post Playa Art 2026 - Call for Entries!

Since the inaugural fair in 2022, the Reno Tahoe International Art Show has featured art created for Burning Man both inside and outside the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. Just a few hours outside of Reno Tahoe, Black Rock Desert is mecca for creative spirits from all over the world. It has been an honor to celebrate that creativity at the RTIA Show, presenting these unique works in a commercial setting after their debut (or return) to the Playa.

Welcoming back to the RTIA Show Susan Handau ()!

From the artist:
"My work lives in the tension between structure and disruption. I build underlying frameworks—grids, arcs, faint geometries—only to challenge them through process. Gravity takes over. Materials push back. The drips are not decorative; they are events. The textures are not constructed for effect; they are the record of friction, erosion, and time.

I am not interested in resolution. I am interested in what happens when control slips—when systems break down and reconfigure. Each painting becomes a negotiation between intention and surrender, holding itself in that unstable space between cohesion and collapse."

Shout out to our sister show , launching one week from today!!

Mirroring the community centered model born from the RTIA Show, the Salt Lake Art Show includes regional universities, art organizations and museums as featured spaces alongside the diverse line up of 200+ galleries, studios, sculptors, Native artists, and bespoke furniture designer/makers.

We're thrilled to be launching in Utah alongside 35 of the incredible exhibitors who have participated in the over the past four years.

Please excuse our distraction this month as we focus on this new adventure. We'll be back to gearing up for the fifth edition of the RTIA Show in a couple weeks!

Caro Nilsson (), the Salt Lake City artist behind the incredible logo for this inaugural Salt Lake Art Show, is creating an onsite live mural during the fair May 14-17 at the Mountain America Expo Center. The silent auction and sale of the mural will benefit the show's community partner, Big Brothers Big Sisters Utah ().

BBBSU creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Their vision is that all youth achieve their full potential. Any Big or Little who has been through the program can attest to the life changing positive impact this organization has on kids and families.

We are so thrilled to host Caro's live work and by extension support BBBSU with their mission. Quality time and relationships can make all the difference.

As we enter the countdown for the May 14-17, we often return to the inspiration and thought process that led to the development of the Peaks Art Fairs model.

Art is subjective, beautiful, challenging and often times, out of reach. The very powers that inspire, heal, and quietly shape the world, are often positioned just beyond the comfort zone for most people. With the Reno Tahoe International Art Show, we envisioned a fine art fair whose presentation could rival any of existing world fairs, but whose environment would be built differently. Exhibition wouldn't be limited to galleries, we would include diverse functional art and sculpture of all scale, Native art would be featured, and the whole experience would feel authentic to the place and people that play its host. All people and age groups would be welcomed and encouraged to engage, discover and grow with the experience.

Now in its fifth edition, the Reno Tahoe International Art Show has found its rhythm. Uniquely designed to celebrate and grow with the Reno Tahoe community, the show brings together local, national and global exhibitors with a world class presentation.

What began as a bold new model has grown - doubling in scale twice over - into a dynamic, thoughtful event showcasing over 1,000 exhibitors and millions in art sold since its inception.

Celebrity makeup artist and beauty brand ambassador turned world class photographer Lazarus Baptiste says, "Makeup taught me to previsualize, and photography taught me to see.”

Official makeup artist to Gayle King at CBS News for 9 years, Lazarus is now a specialist in super high resolution panoramic nigh cityscapes and he prints BIG. His passion project 'NYCANDI' is a 10-year photographic love poem to the city of New York. Laz showcased some of these incredible images at the 2025 RTIA Show - we were lucky to have him onsite.
