Welcoming back Karma Henry to the First Nations, Indigenous Peoples Pavilion at the RTIA Show this September 17-20!

From the artist:
"My work encompasses place, perception, pattern and movement. Place represents where I stand, literally, or where I am emotionally. Perception is what I interpret at that place. Pattern is the forefront of each piece, referencing design elements existing in these places; like Paiute basketry, geography, or skyscapes using colors from that place. The juxtaposition of these elements enhances movement between what is seen and felt, and also what shifts visually across the paintings surface.
I translate my artwork titles to NĂĽĂĽmĂĽ (Paiute) allowing the viewer a glimpse of what I am experiencing within."

A warm welcome to first time exhibitor Kat Allibe ()!

Born in a small village in France, Kat is an internationally-minded contemporary artist whose work bridges inner transformation and outer expression.

From an early age, she moved fluidly between visual art and music, cultivating a deep sensitivity to rhythm, emotion, and storytelling. While her professional life led her across continents through more than three decades in global marketing and communications, the call of the canvas never faded. What began as playful exploration evolved into a profound artistic commitment, refined through formal training at the MILAN Institute of Art.

Kat’s work explores themes of transformation, consciousness, and feminine empowerment. Through fluid forms, layered textures, and emotionally resonant color palettes, she creates visual narratives that speak to resilience, inner strength, and the evolving role of women in shaping the future.

Mainstay RTIA Show exhibitor April Gratrix () returns for her fifth year of the fair this September 17-20, 2026 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Working mainly in acrylic on canvas, April draws inspiration from nature to create paintings that are influenced by her background in graphic design. Living and working in the Reno-Tahoe region directly informs her creative practice, inspiring work that reflects the unique topography of northern Nevada. Since relocating to the area eight years ago, April's focus has shifted toward contemporary landscape painting. She is deeply captivated by the region's environmental contrasts, from the stark, earthy palettes of the high desert to the dramatic, vibrant blues of Lake Tahoe. Her work seeks to translate these everyday surroundings into visual narratives, capturing the vast horizons, layered mountain ranges, and shifting atmospheric light from dawn until dusk.

Heather Nicole and Andrew C. Strom of Respect the Wild () return to the Heart of Reno showcase at the RTIA Show this September 17-20 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Heather Nicole is a Congressionally Recognized, award-winning, published wildlife photographer currently based in Northern Nevada. From childhood Polaroids to professional wildlife photography, her journey has been driven by an unbreakable connection to nature. With experience in film and digital photography, she now focuses on capturing wildlife photographs ethically and respectfully. From her backyard to the Arctic Tundra, she travels far and wide to witness wildlife in its natural habitat. Whether photographing whales, bears, birds, or bugs, Heather’s goal is to showcase stunning wildlife imagery that encourages people to appreciate and protect the natural world.

Andrew C. Strom is an award winning photographer based in Northern Nevada. He grew up in the Reno area and after serving six years in the Army National Guard he became a public servant, currently working for The City of Reno. Andrew took up photography during the pandemic of 2020 after meeting his now wife and fellow photographer, Heather Nicole. In the few years since, he has quickly earned renown for his work photographing moments in wildlife that capture the mood, personality, and soul of his many subjects.

J.A.Nagel returns to the RTIA Show this September 17-20, 2026 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Informed by over a decade working as a Director of Photography across commercial, documentary, and narrative projects, James Nagel's portraiture is instilled with a sensitivity to nuance- how light can define form, suggest narrative, and guide attention. His light is structural.

From the artist:
"I work primarily in portraiture, focusing on faces shaped by time, endurance, and lived experience. A subtle shift in posture or gaze can hold a density of information—character, history, presence. My figures are often suspended in transitional moments, where
narrative is implied but never fully resolved."

Welcoming Shea Curtis, aka to the RTIA Show!

From the artist:
"My work lives in the space between stillness and transformation. These pieces exist somewhere between preservation and becoming.
I build layered compositions within glass enclosures. Each piece is assembled by hand to create quiet enclosed worlds that feel delicate and familiar."

Materials: Dried florals, paper specimens, crystals, clay sculpture, found objects, antique convex glass, and cloche domes
