I saw lots of creatures while w**ding the garden! 1) at least 3 different types of caterpillars aka chicken snacks 2) yellow garden spider having a snack 3) praying mantis having a snack (I’ve never seen this, it was pretty cool) 4) a tomato hornworm, they camouflage so well and make a great chicken snack!

RIP Orangey the rooster. And we’ve been so focused on the inside of our house, that the outside is an absolute disaster. And he’s. That is corn growing beside the chicken coop!

Random garden mess update! The w**d whacker ran out of string. Maybe I’ll have to correct that and w**d eat this weekend! It’s soooo bad hahaha.

The floors done and we can finally bring all the appliances back in! It will be nice to wash clothes and have ice again! Oh and cook on the stove 😝

See those bubbles the painter left?!?! He said we have moisture damage. I say he mudded too thick and/or didn’t let it dry fully! I’ve repaired following what I learned on Google and so far I only have one issue! “Professional” of 15 years - 0, amateur who’s never done mudding before - 1. I also added wall texture to all the flat spots since these pictures. I’ll wait for all the paint to fully dry and rework that one problem spot! Hopefully I’ll be done correcting the walls and trim by the end of this week! Ceilings will have to come at a later date but for the most part, those seem decent in most rooms (thank goodness!).

They couldn’t even bother to put outlet covers and fixtures back up. By this point though, the painter was pretty angry that we called him out on a lot of his mistakes (there was an unpainted portion in the bathroom and he was so mad about it). I was afraid he might break things more than put them back correctly. We were ready for him to just be gone. And then I noticed the last photo while putting the glass back up! Aghhh. Oh and if you’re wondering why we have two bulbs, three bulbs is just too bright!

I punched a hole in the wall taking this shelf off. The nail refused to come out so the husband cut it off for me. Then patch and paint! The painter said the paint sucks and charged us more for 3 coats. His prep work was the problem because this looks great with just 2 coats….

The painter finally left yesterday. Did we get what was agreed upon for the price we paid? Nope. But it’s an expensive mistake for us to learn from. In the meantime, I have a fun new series of reels for yall: The painter’s mistakes that I have fixed! Get ready for so very many more.

The youngest and I harvested corn today. Look at how lovely that first one is!!! The rest we picked following all the signs of when they were ready, but they weren’t filled out all the way. I think that’s it for the corn we planted but we’ll find out over the next month or so!
