Tuesdays with Morrie Brings Broadway Legend Len Cariou to Clear Space | July 28 at 2pm and 5:30pm
This exciting production comes to Clear Space fresh from its critically acclaimed off-Broadway run at Sea Dog Theater, starring Broadway legend Len Cariou and Sea Dog Artistic Director Chris Domig.
Best known for winning the Tony Award for originating the role of Sweeney Todd in its original Broadway production, Len Cariou’s career has spanned stage and screen, with Tony nominated leading roles in the original Broadway casts of A Little Night Music and Applause, and as as a television star across 7 seasons of Murder, She Wrote and 14 seasons of Blue Bloods on CBS.
Based on Mitch Albom’s beloved book, which was later made into a popular TV movie, Tuesdays with Morrie is the story of an old man, a young man, and life’s greatest lessons. Career-obsessed journalist Mitch Albom sixteen years after graduation, serendipitously learns that his former sociology professor Morrie is battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease. What starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and the last class in the meaning of life.
Proceeds from these two performances support the Rebecca Luker Partnership at Clear Space Theatre Company, funding programs that support career opportunities for future artists and arts leaders, named in memory of Broadway icon Rebecca Luker, who passed away from Lou Gehrig’s Disease in 2020.
