We had a beautiful Friday night under the lights and were excited to launch two new ways to support local artists:

🎨 The Support Local Artist Passport – Complete four simple challenges throughout both our locations, earn star stickers, and get a free drink.

🥤 The DAC Cup Club – $25 donation for a Support Local Artists Cup, with a QR code to our Artist Directly. Enjoy $1 off discounted refills all season long.

We also celebrated the opening of DAC Next Edition’s The Color of Water exhibition at the Artpothecary.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported artists, and helped us kick off these new experiences. 💜

Join us for the 2026 West Rehoboth Juneteenth Celebration, a weekend honoring the history, culture, resilience, and future of West Rehoboth’s historic Black community. ❤️🖤💚

On Friday, June 19th from 5–9PM, Central Street comes alive with:
✨ The Juneteenth Creative Market featuring 15 Black artists & handmade businesses
✨ Oral histories from West Rehoboth families
✨ Food by Sarcastic Chef & Aunt Mary's Soul Kitchen
✨ West Rehoboth Legacy Mural Tours with the Vann family
✨ Mt. Pleasant Church Bell Ringing & Prayer by Pastor Bobby Bull at 5:00PM
✨ The Colors of You art exhibit by Kreator Mills at the DAC Artpothecary
✨ Special guest author Alexs D. Pate (West of Rehoboth) with a live reading at 6:30PM + meet & greets throughout the evening
✨ Entertainment by DJ TDF, Wezo, Elijah & The Band, DJ Elegal, Pauly Dinero, Rose.Gotit, DJ ELL, Gold 97, and 40Karat

The celebration continues Saturday, June 20th with Writing Our Stories, a special Juneteenth writing workshop with Alexs D. Pate at the Rehoboth Beach Historical Society & Museum (rbmuseum.org/events for tickets)

We are also honored to partner with The Waypoint Hotel, located on the historic site of the former Malloy Motel, once listed in The Green Book as a safe haven for Black travelers during segregation.

Opening Day always lands on Memorial Day for us and every year, it’s a weather gamble. 🌧️ BUT, this year we were able to have the confidence with our new weather proofing to stay open with the horrible rain forecast.

In previous years, we would have cancelled the market… but tonight, the “bubble” did its job, the drizzle rolled through, and over 200 amazing people still showed up to support our local artists.

We know it may take a little time for folks to realize we officially operate rain or shine now, but honestly… this ended up being one of our favorite opening nights yet!

Huge thanks to our incredible artists, Chris Steele, LuvThai, Cup R Cone, and our amazing summer squad for helping bring the space to life tonight. We’re back every Monday + Friday all summer long. ☀️
