hmm... not good

Multiple wildfires continue to burn across Northern California this morning. The North Pass, Goff, and Bagley fires in particular are putting off significant amounts of smoke. Winds out of the east and northeast have brought this into much of interior Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity, and Mendocino counties. The North Coast Unified and Mendocino County Air Quality Management Districts have issued Air Quality Alerts with air quality possibly decreasing through the morning hours. Individuals with respiratory disease or anyone else who is especially sensitive to air pollution should avoid outdoor activities in areas of heavy smoke.

A southerly swell will begin impacting south facing beaches on Saturday and continue through the weekend. This swell can result in breakers as large as 5 to 8 feet in the larger sets. Beachgoers should keep an eye on the waves and never turn their backs on the ocean. A few regions that will be impacted, but are not limited to, include Shelter Cove and beaches near Point Arena.
