The Cascades Futurity is coming to the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center!

Starting this Saturday, September 5th, come out and experience some incredible cutting horse action as talented horses and riders compete throughout the week.

There’s plenty for spectators to check out, with competition running September 5–13, plus special events throughout the week including the Cascade Range Select Horse Sale, wine tasting, Party in the Ponderosas BBQ, a Working Dog Trial Exhibition, Youth Scholarship Cutting and more.

If you’ve never watched cutting horses compete, this is a great opportunity to see the athleticism, instinct and teamwork between horse and rider up close.

The 42nd Annual High Desert Car Show & Swap Meet is coming to the Deschutes County Fair & Expo on Saturday, September 12!

Known as Central Oregon’s largest one-day automotive event, this annual tradition brings together classic cars, automotive enthusiasts, collectors and vendors from around the Pacific Northwest.

Explore classic cars, old and new automotive parts, reproduction parts, antiques, collectibles and even cars for sale. Plus, check out the special Central Oregon Antique Engine and Tractor Association Hit n’ Miss Engine Display.

Another great event is happening in Central Oregon this weekend!

Education with a Destination & the Destination Auction returns August 27–30, bringing alpaca owners, breeders and enthusiasts together for a weekend of education, connection and some of the best alpaca genetics from across the country.

The Destination Auction takes place this Saturday, August 29, in the Coastal Pavilion at the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center. RSVP is required to attend the Destination Auction, so be sure to reserve your spot ahead of time.

THEY ARE ALL GONE!!!!

FREE STRAW BALES - FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!

As we continue tearing down from the 2026 Deschutes County Fair & Rodeo, we found ourselves with extra straw and would love to give it back to our community.

We have approximately 80 straw bales available FREE while supplies last.

Location: Behind the Wilco Barns, between Buildings B & C.

Hours:
Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

A few things to know:

Please take whole bales only. We'd like to keep them intact.
Bring a truck or trailer and load them yourself.
We do not have a forklift available, so please do not ask. Our staff is still busy with Fair teardown.
Please take what you can reasonably haul and consider leaving some for others in the community to enjoy.

This is first come, first served, and once they're gone, they're gone!

We hope these bales can find a good home and be put to good use. Thank you for helping us keep them out of the landfill while giving back to our community!

What a week!

The 106th Wilco Deschutes County Fair & Rodeo presented by Indian Head Casino is officially in the books, and we couldn't be more grateful for everyone who helped make it such a success.

Over five incredible days, we welcomed families from across Central Oregon to experience everything that makes our Fair special. From the excitement of the carnival and the roar of the rodeo to amazing concerts, livestock shows, 4-H and FFA exhibits, delicious Fair food, local shopping, interactive exhibits, and nonstop entertainment, there was truly something for everyone.

This year's Fair was about more than just the big events. It was about kids making memories, exhibitors showing the results of a year's hard work, volunteers giving countless hours, sponsors supporting our community, and neighbors coming together to celebrate agriculture, tradition, and summer in Central Oregon.

Thank you to every person who walked through our gates, cheered in the grandstands, supported our exhibitors, and made new memories with family and friends. You are the reason we do this every year.

As we look back on another unforgettable Fair, we're already excited about what's ahead. Thank you for making the 106th Wilco Deschutes County Fair & Rodeo one to remember.

We'll see you next year!

As the gates close on another incredible Deschutes County Fair & Rodeo, we simply want to say... thank you.

Thank you to everyone who came out to make memories with us over the past five days. Whether you came for the concerts, rodeo, carnival, livestock shows, exhibits, food, shopping, or just to spend time with family and friends, you made this year's Fair something truly special.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our amazing staff, volunteers, Fair Association, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, entertainers, photographers, security team, parking crew, maintenance and operations staff, first responders, and every person who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible. It takes an incredible team to bring the Fair to life, and we are grateful for each and every one of you.

We also want to extend our deepest appreciation to the firefighters and wildfire crews working throughout Central Oregon. Your dedication and sacrifice allowed our community to safely come together during a challenging wildfire season. We are incredibly thankful for everything you continue to do to protect our communities.

Thank you for making the 2026 Deschutes County Fair & Rodeo one to remember. We hope you made memories that will last a lifetime.
