The Bay Tree Council for the Performing Arts is governed by a dedicated Board of Directors comprised of arts advocates who share a common passion for theater and a commitment to the community. The board also serves as a champion of the theater arts in the Red Bay area. It is dedicated to raising the profile of theater and igniting interest in the theater among the community’s youth.

The BTCPA board of directors met last night and elected new board members: Paul Williams, Matt Hester, Nicholas Stepp, Mary-Elizabeth Moore, Jeanette Pearson and Austin Henderson. Those rotating off are Mark Richardson, Sharon Strickland, Brenda Cardenas, Theron Struzik and Britany Faris. We thank them all for their hard work and dedication through the last three years! Also, the winner of the 500.00 scholarship sponsored by the BTCPA was Bryer Mayo of Belmont. He is currently enrolled at Northeast Community Colley in Booneville, MS and will transfer to UNA to receive his BS in Secondary Education and them eventually attend Seminary School. He is also the grandson of BTCPA board member and actor Jeri Mayo. This is the 14th scholarship that the BTCPA has given away in the last few years.

The Red Velvet Cake War was our last production of the 2025-2026 season, and it ended with a BANG with this play! The audiences were large and loved it by their laughter and kind words afterwards! The cast and crew did an amazing job, many told us it was one of the best and funniest, if not THE best! We will be working on our next season, so stay tuned!

Opening night for The Red Velvet Cake War was a huge success! The audience didn't just laugh, they roared all the way through it! So many members of the audience told us afterwards it was one of if not the funniest, we've ever done! Tickets will be available at the door or reserve them by calling 256-998-6781 between 2-4 or leave a message at other times.

Dinner with the play is available on Thursday April 23, 2026 only. The play ticket is 10.00 and the meal ticket is 25.00, total 35.00 for both. The meal has to be reserved and paid for in advance. You may call Beth Hammock at 256-668-0045 to reserve this and tickets go on sale this Thursday at the Weatherford Centre between 2-PM weekdays. That number to call is 256-998-6781.
