In 2012, he obtained two degrees in the visual arts from nearby Kutztown University and uses the foundational skills acquired during those studies to inform his tattooing practice, which began in 2011 at Lucky 13 Tattoos and Piercings. During that time, he worked tirelessly to develop an aesthetic and was blesse

Today’s the day!

My books are open from today (12/11) until 12/18 for new submissions/projects/inquiries.

I am only accepting contact via email at [email protected] and via my contact form at crosskeystattoo.com. No DM's, please.

To streamline the process, and to obtain a timely response from me, please include the following details about your prospective project:

-subject: image or images in the tattoo
-content: meaning to you, if any
-size: dimensions in inches or cm
-placement: where on your body
-style: feel free to include photo references if emailing

Please also include the days and times of the week that you’re available to consult or to be tattooed. I tattoo between 10-5 on weekdays as well as some Saturday mornings. Scheduling requests outside of those days and times will take longer to accommodate.

Other important notes:
-I am going to be more selective this round with new projects. I’m trying to refine and reform my body of work a bit. I know that tattoos are intensely personal, so please don’t take offense.
-To keep up with the ridiculous inflation in my industry (and life in general, amirite?), I’m raising my hourly tattooing rate to 185/hr. I always do my best to clearly communicate pricing in advance of an appointment.

I can’t wait to work with you all!

An enormous thanks to all those who have been waiting patiently for me to open my books. I'm still diligently working 55+ hours a week to catch up and reschedule all those who had initiated projects before the shutdown. I promise that I'm doing everything possible to get things moving so that I can take on the exciting new projects that you've all been waiting so patiently to work on together. Stay safe out there and wear your sunscreen!

The time has come! Now that Berks County has been moved to the green phase, tattooists and other personal care professionals have been cleared to return to business.

CROSS KEYS IS FINALLY REOPENING!

I've been working diligently to clean and restock my studio, as well as creating new health/wellness policies to protect the safety of my clients (See comments, below)

During the first couple weeks, I'll begin by contacting all of those who had appointments scheduled during the shutdown, those who held pre-paid accounts and those clients who reached out to initiate an appointment before or during the shutdown. After that point, I'll be reopening my books for new projects with existing and new clients. Thank you for your patience in advance...I'm gonna need it!

Picking up a new medium to make some safe and socially distant art that my clients can enjoy while they wait for me to reopen. Are there any subject you’d like to see made into prints? What are some of your favorite kinds of tattoos?

EDITED YET AGAIN:

DEFINITELY CLOSED. ALL FURTHER APPOINTMENTS WILL BE RESCHEDULED ONCE I'VE BEEN CLEARED TO REOPEN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE. STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY FOLKS

Hey everybody! Please stay safe and sane out there as we face this health concern. And REMEMBER...what better place to be than a room that is sanitized and wiped down with the strongest disinfectants available between each client interaction, where there's never more than two people in the room, where the only other person in the room wears nitrile gloves 95% of the time, neurotically washes his hands the other 5% with and is too socially anxious to shake your hand anyway! Joking aside, please be safe and don't forget to tip service industry workers who will undoubtedly face increased financial hardship during this season. Peace and love, all.

Did anybody take advantage of the beautiful weather this past weekend and spend some time in the great outdoors? I bet these clients did!

Any recommendations for good hiking in the area next time we get a heatwave?

‘Tis the season for gift giving! I’ll be in the shop today from 10:30-3, available for gift card purchases as well as consultation and scheduling appointments.

SPECIAL: for every $100 gift certificate purchased with cash or Venmo today, I’ll throw in an extra $25 “on the house” for you or for the recipient of your gift certificate.

(Exception: I will not do remote credit card processing, as it’s expensive and not secure, but if you are unable to make it into the shop, I can offer digital processing through Venmo)

Excited to be switching over to hustle butter products at Cross Keys. I’m not entirely sure about the argument against petroleum based aftercare BUT what I can get behind is good results and my clients that use hustle butter love it.

Welcome to Cross Keys

In 2016, Jimmy opened a private tattooing studio to maintain his discipline at the Goggleworks Center for the Arts, the home of Cross Keys. In this new space, he endeavored a space for tattooing unparalleled in not only the physical cleanliness and sterility necessitated in a tattoo shop, but also in comfort and professionalism. In addition to being “appointment only” to ensure that the customer has the Jimmy’s unadulterated attention, the exposed brick, polished hardwood floors, comfortable furniture and clean walls hung with compelling original artwork make for an environment curated for the purpose of inspiration and relaxation.

“I aspire to a reputation of both technical excellence and artistic sophistication that can be hard to find in many tattoo shops. Cross Keys is a destination for those discerning collectors who are seeking a personal, art-centric experience as much as a good tattoo.”
