WHEN PEE-WEE HERMAN MET CHEECH & CHONG

Before Pee-wee’s Playhouse, Paul Reubens showed up in Nice Dreams (1981) as the completely bizarre Howie Hamburger Dude — and he’s impossible to forget.

The voice. The nervous energy. The weird mannerisms. You can already see pieces of Pee-wee starting to form.

And all of it is happening inside a Cheech & Chong movie.

“I’m the Hamburger Dude!”

It’s one of those great comedy-history collisions: Cheech Marin, Tommy Chong and a young Paul Reubens before Pee-wee became a household name.

Who remembers seeing Reubens in this?
