Another Part of Me is Julie’s second book featuring her poems, pictures and reflections. The first was The Place I Keep in which she published her early work. Barn On The Bend

The field stone buildings and the gray barn walls, weathered and beaten by the seasons as many of us weather the storms in our lives. The blue-gray scene offers serenity and a calm that one can look at in passing where the painting is displayed. The snow never melts, the barn never needs paint and the serenity never fails to calm.

The farm is in Oley and painted many years ago when life was simpler.

Guardians of the Garden

Guardian Angel, from Above
When an angel left heaven with no forwarding address,
God was not angry, but hardly impressed,
Wondering what on Earth and angel could prove
Alone on her own, she
The harm and destruction humans could do,
For God had given them His son and His love,
If that wasn’t
Who on Earth was in such dire need,
that an angel would risk God
but there in the hallow, a baby was born,
with only a fair chance to survive on his own,
in poverty, forgotten and barely alive,
So, the angel left heaven without consent,
And followed the child where ever he went,
To shield and protect him his whole life through,
The kind of work that good angels do.
God knew, and didn’t
With love and respect, for the children He cared.
A league of guardians was then assigned
To protect the innocent greed left behind.
From that day on, angels sent from above,
Were to guard and protect children with love.
So, each night when you say your prayer,
don
to guide and protect while you sleep
her heavenly assignment she
Thank God, who sent His angels with love,
To guard and guide us from His home above.

Pink Engagements

The mystical magic of the red buds in full bloom, reflects the light of day with the shadows that the flowers appear in a vast array of reds, purple and pink.

Look closely to see the distance is hardly distinguishable for it is not red, nor pink, nor purple. Color is up to chance; your perception is within your domain.
