Dancers! The summer is flying by; it seems like the beginning of July was just yesterday and now it's heading towards August. I made it through the car show, week-long carnival, and various other library activities. Now Sunday we have the picnic at Kauffman's chicken. Later in August are the Dreibelbis events, and my family is coming to visit. It will be September before you know it (ugh).
If you come to the Dreibelbis Farm Festival where there will be 50 demonstrations, displays, vendors, lots to see and do, make sure you register for the house tour immediately. Sometimes we don't get everyone through in 6 hours. AND our own Anne developed a really great history of preserving food, including canning and the use of root cellars for the house tours, come and see her and Donna on the tour of this very interesting homestead!
Meanwhile, we have just a few changes:
Mondays at Mifflin as usual. Please note on the dance list below that the times for each class have changed.
We still don't know when the first GRANGE will be held, stay tuned. Dave is recovering from knee surgery and we all hope he's doing well
I will be at Albright every week, but on August 13, I will have the kiddo. I think it will be OK; we'll do what we can with him there. (I may have to let him have MY ipad to keep him busy).
Douglassville Encore is the 7th and 28th. Fleetwood Encore no change.
Saturdays at the library have some changes to note: See you tomorrow (August 1). August 8 is cancelled as I have several other obligations that day. August 12 will be done by Ronni; she does a great job so let's support her. August 22 is cancelled - come to the festival (see above). We are OK for the 29th.
I have not heard anything about Ted's 4th Sunday venue - will update as soon as I hear.
That's it for now. Of course, as soon as I send this, I will think of something else, OR someone will point out an error. I better keep dancing or it's gonna get worse....LOL.

Friday nights from 9-12, there’s line dancing at Hummel’s, 28 Willow Street, in Lenhartsville. This is reported to be a younger crowd, and too late for me, incase you’re interested. No further details available.
Second Friday of the month, the dancing at the Red Hill Fire Company SocialHall at 82 East 5th Street, $10. This was previously DJ Dan but is now Shannon and is reported to be a younger crowd. Food and drinks available.
Fridays! For anyone interested in ballroom dancing (which includes everything from swing, Latin, and smooth dances such as waltz), Louise Lamar Dance Studio holds an open dance every Friday night (excluding a few holidays) starting at7:30 pm. The dance includes a lesson for the first hour, then open dancing to a variety of music from 8:30 to 10:00. The cost is only $10 per person for both the lesson and the dance party. The studio is located at 128 Tulpehocken Road, Bernville, PA (near Tulpehocken High School). Call Chuck Myers at 484-258-6948 with any questions you might have about the dances.
