*Pupdate: Honey Bear is successfully out of surgery and one step closer to recovery thanks to the amazing team at Mesa Vista Veterinary Hospital ♥️ We do now suspect this poor girl was shot 3 times not just once 😔
WE NEED YOUR HELP
We are doing a special collection for donations to help the newest addition to our rescue: Honey Bear. She’s just as sweet and cuddly as her name sounds but this poor girl was dumped in Yankee Canyon, and upon vet inspection her story only gets more bleak.
Poor little 4 month old Honey Bear was shot. Someone intentionally placed a barrel in her mouth and fired leaving a gaping hole in the back of her throat that is compacted with the grass she was trying to eat to stay alive. The bullet also fractured and scattered throughout her body including the injury visible on her nose. She was rescued with a high fever and pneumonia before we ever knew about her other injuries.
Despite all of this, Honey Bear remains a loving enthusiastic puppy that we hope to find a FurEver home for. She went into surgery today, June 16th and we are raising funds to help cover the cost of this life-saving treatment. Anything helps in offsetting the costs of medical bills as well as general food and care for all the dogs in our rescue and we cannot thank you enough!
